time to trade Marc Gasol
I know... I know call me crazy. This post might get me banned HAHA but i don't care

i'm sick of him... i'm sick of passive bigmen from spain!

won't shoot when he needs to... won't rebound when he needs to.

I don't want to hear about "what the does on defense is intangible.. it's not in the box score"..screw that.. the box score also says 104 to 84.

i have never seen a center that will not get in the paint and work. He will literally set 5-6 screens in a row before he even touches the paint. A center with his size and skill should be averaging 20-25 points and 10 rebounds. He's the opposite of grit and grind!

get rid of him now before the rest of the league finds out

Really??? You didn't look up the record then. Look it up...it's common knowledge and if you have been watching the POs or any Grizz games over the last couple months, the record with him is leaps and bounds better (top 4 in the western conf) than without him (a losing record). Now I think you are just trolling coz if you have been following the Grizz, you would know this.

Disagree with trading him.

But- he does need to spend less time demonstrably whining- he has taken himself out of plays while protesting- many times when other than having his shot blocked there was nothing for him to whine about.

He is too good for that- his game will improve if he stops that.

The only reason the Grizzlies should ever consider trading him is knowledge he will not re-sign with the team.

Marc is a good, not great center, but he is key to the team's success.

13 of the Grizzlies 32 losses happened when he was injured. They were 10-13 without him and 40-19 with him. Exactly a guy you should trade.

And we're glad you are MemphisBlazer. As for Gasol, the facts many posters put on here totally debunk the notion of trading him. Case closed. However he does need to develop a little bit more of a 'selfish' mentality. He's a skilled shooter from 12-15 ft. Take it when you're open Marc.

Some of the better NBA centers:
-Demarcus Cousins
-Andrew Bogut
-Omar Asik
-Al Jefferson
-Tyson Chandler
-Brook Lopez
-Robin Lopez
-Roy Hibbert
-Al Hofford
-Joakim Noah
-Dwight Howard

So who would you trade for? Sacramento probably wouldn't move Cousins. Chicago wouldn't move Noah. Charlotte probably wouldn't move Jefferson. Even if they would Jefferson doesn't play defense. I am sure that Indiana will trade Hibbert. Is he better than Gasol? Nope. Houston might trade Asik. Is he better? No way. So that would leave the often injured Tyson Chandler or one of the Lopez brothers. Would you really rather have one of them? C'mon.

It's still dumb to even think about trading Gasol. His salary doesn't keep you from adding pieces around him. He plays defense, rebounds and has both a face up and a post game. He is also a very good facilitator. He is consistently ranked in the top 5 of best centers in the league. Sometimes he does disappear and defer to his teammates instead of taking a shot but if I could only keep 2 players from this team I would keep him and Conley.

LOL

Many people were cool with trading Gay...it was obvious he was an highly inefficient player. You are now taking credit for something that 1000s of fans were cool with...smh

Gasol, on the other hand, is the opposite of Gay. There are very few centers of his ilk that we could trade for.

We are talking about real life Marc Gasol, not 2k Marc. He does not rebound nor does he have a post game. He also doesn't block shots his role on defense is to tell the guys in the front where to be so they can do all the real defending.

He is not a center you build your franchise around because he acts as if he is a pg on both offense and defense. The OP is right he needs to go because he will bring in the biggest return. Trade him for a young athletic big who will block shots rebound score in the post occasionally, plus draft pics and I'm positive there wont be much of a difference.

It doesn't say that it was made for TIGER fans on memphistigers.org either. MemphisBlazer is a Memphian and a nice guy. So what if he is a UAB fan. Gene Bartow was a Tiger then a Blazer then a Grizzly. He's smarter than the OP in this thread I bet.
