i would go a step further. This is the dumbest thing I have seen posted on any message board, fb or twitter in a solid month. It is stupid enough that the OP should just consider taking a break from the internet for a while.

Marc Gasol, healthy & 100%, is a future top 3-5 player in NBA. Grizz fans better hope he doesn't jump ship on that next option he has.

If he gets aggressive and looks to take over he is easily top 5ish. There are nights when he is aggressive and looking to dominate and he is dominant. There are other nights where he is a bit more passive and isn't so great.

I wonder if this guy watched him play last night?
Marc is a future stud. Hope we don't eff it up and bring Pau in.

The future of this team for the next few seasons lays in the hands of Randolph. Willehe be willing to take a pay cut to retire here? If he does then other pieces can be taken care of

Not the biggest Pau fan, but have you them play together? You have to check out they chemistry together.

In this thread, MARC IS NOT THE SAME PLAYER HE WAS WAAAHH.

Anybody care to mention he sprained his MCL this year? Maybe coming back and playing in "must win" games for 2 months before the playoffs didn't give us a chance to rest him very much.

They aren't and shouldn't trade Marc. He will get healthy this offseason and hopefully get coached into being more of a primary scorer.

RE: time to trade Marc Gasol
Trading Marc Gasol is a non-starter. Name of people I would trade for Marc Gasol:

1. Durant
2. LeBron

I'd consider, but would likely keep Marc:
- Harden
- Curry
- Westbrook
- Anthony Davis
- Noah

Would not trade him for:
- Duncan (better player, but older)
- Parker (generally don't trade C for G)
- Griffin (I prefer Marc)
- Paul (I think he is better, but not good enough to trade Marc's size for, a PG is easier to replace than a Franchise Center)
- Howard
- Aldridge (but I could MAYBE see that being an interesting discussion)
- Dirk (Better player than Marc, but at the end of his career)
- Kobe (Ditto to Dirk/Duncan)
- Pau
- Cousins
- Wade (Ditto to Dirk/Duncan/Kobe, better in prime, but past prime)
- Hibbert (ha, ha, ha)
- George
- Bosh
- Deron Williams
- Al Horford
- Chandler
- Carmelo
- Love

>>>>>

Basically, if you factor in the lack of strength at the 5 position, the aging of players who had better primes than Marc (Kobe, Duncan, Dirk, Wade), and the axiom 'don't trade big for small', I don't see any value in trading him. There are literally something like 5-10 players that approach his overall value and NONE of those guys will be traded from their teams.

We have Marc and I'm THRILLED about that. The core is in place for one more year, let's add some more shooting and get after it 03-wink

This quote looks a bit like an overreach until you realize that Marc is a true two way player and a gifted passer and budding scorer.

I can see him being a Sabonis type (in prime, not the old guy who finally came over) - high post passer and facilitator, mid range shooter, and low post scorer. Hell, that is what he is NOW.

Give him a few more post moves and perhaps work a little on his body strength / conditioning and you very well might have a Top 5 player. Seems like the spots 3 on down (1. LeBron, 2. Durant) are available. He can pass Paul, Griffin, etc...

They're not trading him. This thread is pointless, other than one guy showing how dumb he is.

RE: time to trade Marc Gasol
10. Finally, lest you ever think that the relationship between a team and its fans doesn’t matter, you should have heard Gasol’s voice wavering when he talked about the crowd that met the Grizzlies charter at Wilson Air after the Game 7 loss. Gasol tends to be matter-of-fact in interviews. He was openly emotional this time. “Let me tell you what,” he said. “We came back last night. It was pretty tough for us. We landed at the airport, Wilson Air, and we had, I don’t know how many people, at least 500 people, more, waiting for us. And cheering. And that means the world to us. Because the last game, Game 6, we were down 20, almost 3:50, almost four minutes to go, and people were leaving. It broke my heart. That we didn’t give enough reasons to stay the whole game, it really hurt me. It really hurt me that we couldn’t pull it off, that we couldn’t give them reasons to stay the whole game. So the fact of coming back home, hurt, not too happy, and seeing people there supporting you, at one in the morning, it means a lot. To me it means a lot personally.”

RE: time to trade Marc Gasol
As much as I hate what I'm about to say, if you trade anyone you trade zbo. He's my favorite basketball player of all time. However, due to his upcoming option this will be hard. But if you can find a team looking to win a title soon, that has some budding stars & a sharp shooting monte Ellis type, or some on willing to give up a top 5 pick for him (not likely) you have to do a sign & trade. The Grizz future is with Gasol. His development has been slowed by ZBO. With ZBO out of the picture Gasol can & will flourish. Conley is the perfect compliment & only keeps getting better. Now, if you can get ZBO to restructure & stay for less, & get a monte Ellis type, by all means.

I read that this morning. Great quote.

RE: time to trade Marc Gasol
I don't think you trade Gasol. He could, and should be a 20/15 guy.

He has great touch from the free throw line and in, is a great passer and could be a better rebounder. I think the offense should go through him on every possession. I would like to see him throw down a couple of monster dunks per game, just for the sake of enthusiasm.

I'm with BigD, I think Zebo should go. With both Gasol and Randolph the Griz are too slow. In the West you are going to have to get by all the teams that can get up and down the floor. The grit and grind is admirable, but at best it will get you a first round exit.

How many left handers do we have on this team, four or maybe five. That is very odd.
