I know....the only two games that interest me are the Texas A&M @ South Carolina game and the UCF @ Missouri game...the rest not so much...that "Tier 3"...

RE: First 4 Weeks of Football Games on the SEC Network
where the SEC network will be interesting will be later in the season...

Oct 4- SEC has 6 games...
LSU @ Auburn
Vandy @ Georgia
S Carolina @ Kentucky
Alabama @ Mississippi
Texas A&M @ Miss St
Florida @ Tennessee

If SEC Network gets even 2 games that day- going to get a really good game. I'd assume LSU/Auburn on CBS and then maybe Florida/Tennessee on ESPN. That'd leave SEC with Alabama/Mississippi perhaps? That's a really nice game.

Also you have to remember the games like in September that are on the SEC network- right now for ACC they are on ESPN 3.

Absolutely! What a pile of 01-rivals

Seriously, is this the programming quality you can expect to see from the SECN? They'd be better off rerunning SEC championship games - over and over and over...

I'd think the SECN will have 3 games that day after negotiating exclusivity away from CBS-ESPN would be stupid not to use it.

12:00 PM - Vanderbilt/Georgia
3:30 PM - LSU/Auburn (CBS)
4:00 PM - Alabama/Mississippi
7:00 PM - Florida/Tennessee (ESPN)
7:30 PM - Texas A&M/Mississippi State
8:00 PM - South Carolina/Kentucky (ESPNU)

I presume there will be an overflow channel, but to me it would make sense to use ESPNEWS for those games as a "preview" of SECN (much like some Fox Sports 1 programming ran on Fox's RSNs during the first few weeks).

Sept. 6 looks bad, but the other weekends have some notable games that will compete with the other networks. I was surprised they had a late 9:15pm game on 8-28. It will be interesting to see what kind of viewership they get with that time slot.

I am just quoting Mark here but he isn't the only one portraying the same mistaken understanding of what a conference network is about.

It isn't about just top match ups, and in the early weeks you see more out of conference match ups. That is just the way it is, perhaps having experienced the Big Ten Network, I understand this.

You folks are not fairly judging what the SEC Network can do with what is available to it.

The Southern Miss matchup against Miss State? As a regional match up, which is where conference networks thrive, it is a pretty strong match up despite the performance Southern Miss put up last season. It is an in state match up and its during the first week. Solid listing.

The Arkansas State vs Tennessee match up early in the season? I find that to be an interesting match up considering how solid of a program Ark State has become and how questionable Tennessee often is.

How about that UCF at Missouri game? That could end up being a great game.

And finally that ULL vs Ole Miss game. I don't know what is wrong with folks, are you truly football fans?

ESPN did that with Kentucky and Louisville a few years ago - Louisville-Murray State was at 6:00 ET, and Kentucky-WKU was at 9:15 ET. This would have worked better if A&M was playing an opponent from the Central Time Zone as the late game, and the 6:00 game featured two teams from the Eastern Time Zone.

Arkansas v. Auburn might be OK.

Btw, I sent you a PM regarding one of your FootballRx posts, and my opinion of SU rivalries (I haven't gotten around to signing up for an account which will let me comment on your site).

I think they make you give them your cell number and I saw the terminator way too many times as a kid to give that to a machine...

I really just don't care about any of those games. I'd rather see UNC vs ECU than S Miss vs Miss St - maybe because that's not MY region.

RE: First 4 Weeks of Football Games on the SEC Network
Come on people. It's The SEC. As college football fans you should be ashamed of yourselves. Slive and Company believe they can take a dump on a plate and you should be willing to pay to line up and smell it. What a crock. Just like The BTN and the future ACC network, all 3 are worthless.

If it doesn't involve my team. I don't won't to see it. I sure in h ell don't want to pay for it. Why is this so hard for some to understand. These conference networks are chocked full of games that no one wants to see except the fans of that program.

None of these games mean anymore to me than the crap that is beamed to my house everyday across the BTN.

The only games I care to pay for involve my school, not the conference it plays in. I don't want to pay for an ACC Network anymore than I do a the BTN or SECN.

I would rather watch Louisville volleyball or Louisville soccer than every SEC football game played each fall because I am a Louisville fan. Not a college football fan. I am certainly not someone that wants to pay for this crap.

Well said!

Look to see the SEC start scheduling weeknight games to boost ratings since every great SEC matchup will be a National broadcast. And come January, watch the FB reruns flood the network ala BTN.

Regarding the ACC network - can't wait to see that GT/WF battle royale! 03-lmfao

Bottom line - only fans of those teams will watch. Period.
