RE: Holocaust Remembrance Day Siren.
That is powerful. I was working at a grocery store in 1980. An elderly lady came through my line and as she reached out to hand me her money I saw the numbers tattooed on her arm. I was a just a kid and I froze. I finally looked up and all I thought to say was "I didn't mean to stare". She told me it was OK, called me sweetie, smiled, and left. Talk about reality smacking you in the face. I was only 16 but the rest of the night and to this day I thought about what that woman must have gone through.

The people who died there and those who survived the Holocaust have earned their place in Heaven.

When my son was 16 he toured Poland playing soccer. Auschwitz was on the itenerary. He is 24 now, serving in the Navy. He cannot talk to me about it to this day.

RE: Holocaust Remembrance Day Siren.
My parents were very young kids in Russia during the Holocaust. My dad was 4 and still remembers hiding in the woods. There were families that actually helped my grandparents by hiding them in their homes. My parents don't remember much, but the things that they do remember are chilling. It's unbelievable that something like that can actually happen.
