we found one for sale that we love. A curve in the road ensures no neighbors ever on one side, and the closest house next door is 400 or so feet away. Also, there's something that sounds awesome about saying "I have to go into town" and mean Oakland, TN (pop. 6600)

Have you already bought it? My closest neighbors are also about 400 feet away and I also have to go 'into town', meaning Oakland. Still trying to find a really good restaurant.

The OZONE Sports Grill if you love rednecks and mullets.

Olympic Steakhouse is pretty good... good buffet, salad bar and a wide variety menu.

I wouldn't expect to get a decent cut of steak there. If it's like the one here in Atoka they serve the saddest cuts of steak I've seen, they might be 3/4" of an inch thick if you get a good one. They do make a mean Greek Pizza though and as you say, the salad bar and buffet are good.

Vinegar Jim's in Arlington used to have awesome steaks, haven't been there in a while though.

Smart...folks who use the roads should maintain the roads.

They do ---- if they're one of the 53%'ers. Maybe we should make the tolls only applicable to the 47% deadbeats who use the roads but don't pay for them.

You pay for the roads everytime you buy a gallon of gas @18 cents federal highway tax per gallon.

Something that's apparently lost on the supporters of tolls on our interstate system.

Or I don't mind paying both...I'd have no issue with 385 and Sam Cooper being toll roads...

I sleep with my windows and doors open, I dare you to do that in midtown.

I went away for the weekend once and came home to find that I'd forgotten to lower the garage door. Since my door into the garage doesn't get locked when I leave it was also open. Not a thing out of place. I've lived in these burbs for almost ten years and have had one incident and that was some kids riding around shooting out windows in cars, they were caught the next day and their parents were made to pay for the busted windows.

I like my chances out here much better than where you are.

I look forward to ***** slapping you tomorrow night at the ball game 02-13-banana

04-cheers

SSShhh...the burbs suck, he's right. There's no room out here anyway. Stay in midtown people, you wouldn't like it out here.

Off the Hoof. And now they opened Off the Hook, also good seafood, but pricie. 385 is not an Interstate so I really don't think it would be a toll road.

It's a tiny town you blow through on the way to Corinth in about 3 seconds if you don't get pulled over, which more likely you will. Biggest freaking speed trap I have ever seen.

I grew up in Germantown/Collierville...to me, it's just too vanilla...but where you live is simply personal preference...I will say G'town has good schools and is quite safe.

We can beat Ole Miss and lose to Temple...jekyll/hyde type team.

Our RPI is 87, UConn is 136

Vinegar Jim's in Arlington has been good the few times we've eaten there. Brads BBQ in Oakland has a pretty good burger. Margaritas in Oakland has pretty good food but the service has been pretty crappy at times. Loven Fresh on the far side of Oakland has good pulled pork and tamales but they are only open til 7 during the week.

I was in Germantown mowing my parents lawn (dad had knee replacement) today, I so don't miss yard work...

Everyone was all excited about Huey's coming to G'town...one of those evil midtown places :-)

I can name 3 that are not in midtown. G'Pkwy, Poplar in Collierville and Winchester close to Hacks Cross. They are everywhere.

You know it all started at the midtown location, right?

I do....I also know you're a midtown snob 04-chairshot

RE: Question about Hwy 385 (aka i269)
I forgot about the Brads BBQ in Oakland. We are doing some house/ land shopping tomorrow and lunch plans are now decided. Used to ride my bike up to the original Brads on Waring as a kid. Great burgers!
