We live there so I'd say yeah. Just stay south of Miller Road.

RE: Quick Question on Kalamazoo Areas
Depends what your definition of "safe" is. Is it Potomac, Md., safe, or Columbia Heights, DC, safe?

Your response is really helpful.

RE: Quick Question on Kalamazoo Areas
Adding to my original post, I'd also try to stay west of Fulford/Moreland. Not that the area isn't safe, but seems like the homes west of there are better taken care of. Also, the "golden triangle" is a really nice area of Millwood, seems like all the homes there are really well maintained.

Donald Sterling probably wouldn't let his girlfriend live anywhere in Millwood, if that's of any consequence.

RE: Quick Question on Kalamazoo Areas
I asked as I was looking at a rental home on Cambridge. It fits within the boundaries that you recommended.

What area makes up the golden triangle? Seems every town/local has its "elite" (for some reason I'm beginning to dislike that word) area.

RE: Quick Question on Kalamazoo Areas
Heh, I live on Cambridge. Are you looking to be the renter or landlord? All of our direct neighbors take great care of their properties.

Golden triangle is bounded by Lovers & Portage, south of the elementary school, north of the golf course.

It's about as helpful as your "is this neighborhood safe" question. I just thought I'd apply a DC analogy, you know, as you used to live here.

RE: Quick Question on Kalamazoo Areas
I grew up on the corner of Harvard and Vassar, white two story house. One block down from Cambridge. Great spot.

I have lots of friends who lived in the triangle growing up. Great area as well.

Some of my best friends grew up in the triangle.

All of them survived.

I live in the rust triangle. We hear the gunplay from the Edison neighborhood just north of us. Cambridge is a good 3 blocks south of us, and seems nice.

I'll grant you there is some subjectivity there, but most discerning people could (and did) easily answer the question.

RE: Quick Question on Kalamazoo Areas
Watch the SEV as some of those properties have killer taxes. Makes it hard to make a profit on a rental.
