Max Wittek
My bretheren over on the Orangebloods message boards are just about to orgasam over the notion that Wittek has all but signed the papers to transfer to Texas. I get it that they are mostly homers and the fact that we haven't had a QB since Colt McCoy graduated sucks. However, can someone that doesn't bleed burnt orange, tell me what is the big deal behind this kid? His resume isn't all that impressive (just a back-up QB to Barkley at USC). I just can't get excited about this.

RE: Max Wittek
He'll do ok there under Charlie Strong. USC has produced some very good college qbs, they don't do well in the pros historically. That's something different entirely.

RE: Max Wittek
I watched him start the game against ND two years ago.

He looked ok, but that was his first college start, I believe.

I have no idea how he has looked or has performed as a college QB otherwise.

If he were so great, I think that he would be starting for Southern Cal this coming season.

RE: Max Wittek
Did you see how iffy Cody Kessler looked at QB for USC last year?

Kessler beat out Wittek for that job. That was the decision of Orgeron and staff last year. It was, again, the decision of Sarkisian and his staff this spring.

Unless everyone has been wrong about Wittek, he's not as good as the most mediocre starting QB USC has had since before Carroll's tenure there.

Injury prone David Ash and Jalen Overstreet. That's why Orangebloods is excited.
