RE: NBR: Talladega
depends on if my uncle gets part of his company's allotment for my dad or not.

I don't think I'd ever buy tickets but I go when I can for free.

Of course I spent most of my childhood at drag races (Holiday and Lassiter) and have a bit of a muscle head about myself.

Yup. 1st time going and my company have VIP passes for Sunday race. This means I will get to eat and drink all I want and meet the drivers before the race. I'm stoked!

UAB needs to get some - or many - of those corporate sponsors for our FB program. UAB has those VIP type opportunities as well like the Blazer Club and Champions Club.

I'm glad for that 2005 contract for 5 years with that group. UAB now needs a dozen or more just like them with ANNUAL contributions to meet annual needs. BTW, How does the IMG deal with Auburn compare to its deal with UAB?

Haven't been able to go to the Indy race since I moved last year. I'm disappointed that Barber won't be hosting a United Sportscar race(what used to be grand am) this year. This will be my first time back at Talladega since 2010 and my first time camping.

I've been an intern for the Barons 2 years, and both years, they've had home games on the day of Talladega. I need to talk to them about changing that next year.

Went 1 year. The year Davey Allison & Bobby Allison finished 1-2.

Stayed in the infield. Saw boobies.

My following of Nascar has dropped off since Dale Jr joined Hendricks.

Used to follow Davey Allison, then Rusty Wallace until he swapped from Ford to Dodge, then Dale Jr.

I was in Hueytown at Long Lewis Ford the day that Davey Allison died in the helicopter crash.

There also is a dealership in Cullman.

Correct on the location. I should have remembered the commercial.

Yep. Earnhardt, Rusty, and Hut Stricklin. I loved rooting for Hut to finish on the lead lap 03-lmfao

Neil Bonnett Honda had memorabilia from the Allison gang in its location as well.

The dealership was sold to Serra & moved to Ensley.

I bought several cars from Neil Bonnett Honda over the last 20 years.

My next car purchase will probably be from Brannon Honda.

A few years back Stan Smith went over the railing at Talladega.

I think it pretty much ended his racing career.

RE: NBR: Talladega
I have great pics and video of the race. I got to meet Gus Malzhan and I was on the track (near the stage) for the Driver's Introduction. Got to high five Danica, Dale Jr, Jimmie J, Tony Stewart, and Jeff. Toured Pit Row and got a spin around the oval which is truly an awesome experience. Had a great time at the race.

FYI, there will be a Talladega Bar and Grill at the airport in July.

I had a blast, both races were great. I'm definitely thinking about going to the fall race. Wore my UAB hat with pride Saturday.
