I come here almost every day and say a prayer every time I see this topic....your families faith will grow from this. I am very happy your wife/life ;-) is responding so soon. I admire your faith and love, it's the real test, and you are passing easily.

Glad to hear she's improving! It's amazing how resillient kids are, glad to hear that the little guy is doing so well too.

Ditto for God is good and you have a blessing given to you. Take everyday as a gift from God as is her recovery and your sons protection....Great NEWS!!!!

Prayers for you, couldn't imagine going through that with my 2 year old daughter and wife....

Samantha is making a slow steady recovery. This morning they informed me today we will be taking the breathing and feeding tubes out. Despite the morphine she is very alert now. She is looking at me, squeezing my hand, furrowing her brow, and smiling in response to conversation.

They had to shave her pretty hair off to clean and doctor all of her head lascerations, but that will grow back.

My father drove up to Athens, AL to have a look at the vehicle yesterday. He told me it was aweful. The driver's side roof was crushed in, which is what fractured her skull and neck. The roof above my son however, was bowed UP, protecting him from the same fate.

God wrapped his hands around my son in that instant, thats the only explanation I will accept. I know some of you do not believe in God, but try going through this with that mindset and you'll change your mind.

My boy knows what happened. He said to me last night, "Mommy got hurt when car went bump." I cried and we talked about it. He's only 2 but he's so smart and sharp, it's amazing how resiliant he has been through this.

Thanks again to all of you who have rememberd Samantha in your prayers. She has received an overwhelming response in both prayer and action from everybody, both friends and strangers alike.

I appreciate you taking precious time away to update us. A bunch of goofs on a message board is a lower priority in times like this but we do support you with our prayers and concern and thank you for letting us know the good news.

Praying for the healing of your wife and the comfort and strength you need during this time to handle all of the odd jobs, decision making and solo parenting that come along with something like this...not that you mind doing it by any means, but physically, I know it must drain you. Also praying that you have a good support system around you to help you shoulder the load.

Praying for you guys. Prayer is a powerful thing and I'm sending those prayers up for you. We serve an awesome and mighty God that is a great healer!!!

Update:

I visited Samantha this morning and it's amazing ya'll! Last night they were prepared to remove her tubes, well...she up and did it herself! Now she is talking. I told her we would be trying to get her in to a rehab center in Birmingham at UAB, she said, "I hate UAB."

I have been so scared she would wake up and not remember me, or perhaps worse...those fears have been alleviated. Samantha has made incredible progress, it can only be the work of the Lord. Thank you all for your continued prayers, they have made a difference.

They have her sitting up now, which helps her feel better. She was asking to see our son, but I decided to wait. Her asking for him proves she is in fact doing better though and that makes me smile. The tears keep coming with each day of improvement.
