MAC Championship: Women's golf
Ball St. is hosting this weekend at the Hawthorne G&CC in Fishers, IN.
Three rounds starting today and ending Sunday.

Live Scoring

KSU (+8) leads by 6 over Toledo after the first round. Third place is another 11 shots back, and it falls off from there.

Quote:The individual medalists from the past two years (Ball State's Jenna Hague and Kent State's Jennifer Ha) are both in the field. Tournament Notes: Ohio's Kara Brinkmann recorded a hole in one on the 15th hole, a 172-yard par 3, in the first round.

Kent St. is shooting for its 16th straight MAC championship, which I believe is a MAC record in any sport. No one else has ever won the team championship.

Amazing dominance. Hope UT breaks that stranglehold but I'm actually surprised we're as close as we are.

RE: MAC Championship: Women's golf
KSU has pushed the lead out to 12 strokes over Toledo after two rounds. NIU is another 8 back and EMU another 2 back.

The real battle appears to be for individual champion. Right now, there are 7 players within 4 shots of the lead. EMU's Karyn Lee Ping leads, but the last two champs--Ball State's Jenna Hague and Kent State's Jennifer Ha--are close behind.

How could someone named Ping NOT win a golf tournament?

Final. KSU came out quickly today was 6-under on the first few holes which pretty much ended anyone's chance of making above up the board. The individual championship wound up being a battle among three Flashes as the EMU and Ball St. ladies faded early on.

Didn't expect Toledo to win but am pleasantly surprised that they were closer to first than they were to third. Congrats, Flashes.
