Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy claimed during a Friday interview on CNN that he didn’t understand the bipartisan outrage over his recent comments suggesting the "Negro people" were “better off” as slaves, and blamed the perception that he's racist on Martin Luther King Jr. for not finishing “his job.”

"I took this boot off so I wouldn’t put my foot in my mouth with the boot on," Bundy said. "Let me see if I can say something. Maybe I sinned, and maybe I need to ask forgiveness, and maybe I don't know what I actually said, but when you talk about prejudice, we're talking about not being able to exercise what we think.

“If I say 'Negro' or 'black boy' or 'slave,' if those people cannot take those kind of words and not be [offended], then Martin Luther King hasn't got his job done yet," he added. "We need to get over this prejudice stuff."

"Hate crime" is not a measurement of total hate crimes committed. it is a classification of a particular crime for stiffer penalties.

I would hope that yall would be smart enough to figure this out by now, but unfortunately I give you guys too much credit.

The rancher spoke in a manner that was common during his early years. Living on a ranch where political correctness isn't part of every day life probably didn't allow him to learn all the words we're not allowed to use these days. For all we know he may have donated to the United Negro College Fund and has boys of his own. He's being demonized for using words that only certain people are allowed to use.

He's a crack pot and doesn't merit the level of attention that he's getting.

I think a better discussion of the federal governments powers could be had without Bundy being in the spotlight. It's hard to sympathize with a man who refuses to pay while other ranchers do.

It is my understanding that he payed the fees willingly for decades and stopped because the agency he was paying the fees to was using that money to shut down his business. What would you do in this situation?. What other recourse did he have? I also understand that he is willing to pay the money locally in some fashion...just not to his destroyers. Im not sure I would characterize Bundy as a freeloader.

It looks like what will eventually happen here is the government will succeed in in destroying a business that has paid taxes,contributed to the economy, provided a product to the marketplace and has employed countless people for decades. Good work. Another success story.
