june teams are built around a system not player talent and the players interchangeable, he's done it everywhere hes gone

none of his teams are elite but none are ever bad, he knows how to beat mediocre to bad teams and depending on many of those this league produces smu has a chance at bowl eligibility

Connelly's team by team previews for college football are incredible. I spent way too much time reading them prior to last season. Just great stuff.

1) their best coach in 30 years
2) his contract was about to end and its hard to recruit when your contract ends in a few months

smu fans hate him because they realize they likely won't be elite with him but the smu staff realize how horrific they were before he came

June's "system" is a relic that was successful against defense that were built to beat the run-oriented offenses of the 90s and early 2000s. Now that defenses are built to stop the pass, June's quirky system no longer allows lesser talent to succeed against more talented defenses.

You are wrong. We hate him because he puts zero effort forth in recruiting. We would accept his results if he appeared to be trying.

You forgot to mention the numerous clauses in the extension that drastically reduce his buyout unless he produces, and that in the extension he agreed to a bi-weekly recruiting review with our athletic director to ensure that he would stop mailing it in.
