VERY early Week 1 lines
Wake Forest (-7.5) at UL Monroe
Mississippi (-8.5) vs Boise State (Atlanta)
Texas A&M vs South Carolina (-9)
Temple at Vanderbilt (-21)
BYU (-14) AT Connecticut
UTSA at Houston (-9.5)
UNLV at Arizona (-25.5)
Colorado State (pick ‘em) at Colorado (Denver)
Bowling Green (-6.5) vs. Western Kentucky
Penn State (-1) vs. Central Florida (Dublin)
Ohio State (-15.5) at Navy
Rice at Notre Dame (-21)
West Virginia at Alabama (-23.5)
Washington (-21.5) at Hawaii
Oklahoma State at Florida State (-13.5)
LSU (-3) vs. Wisconsin (Houston)
Utah State vs Tennessee (-6.5)
Miami at Louisville (-3.5)

Tennessee only being a 6.5 fave at home vs Utah State speaks volumes. Not that USU is a bad team- at all- but there's a lot of work to be done in Knoxville.

One very slight correction is the WVU - Alabama game is in Atlanta which may as well be considered a home game for the Tide.
That point spread shows there may be a lot of work to do in Morgantown as well.

Yes, that Tennessee vs. Utah State game is going to be very telling, and they really need to win it to get off to a good start. Look at this schedule... it is bonkers. Their "cupcakes" made the MWC Championship, won the Sun Belt, and was the co-champ of the Southern Conference last year. If they make and win a bowl this year, give that Butch a raise:

Utah State
Arkansas State
at Oklahoma
at Georgia
Florida
Chattanooga
at Ole Miss
Alabama
at South Carolina
Kentucky
Missouri
at Vanderbilt

Arkansas state plays Utah state this year as well just as an aside. As well as Miami.

What? No line for NIU vs. Presbyterian College? I'm disappointed.

Raise? That gives him a ticker tape parade and his pick of the coaching jobs that come available at the end of the season.

No way. He's putting the Vols back on the map and staying whether he likes it or not.

Not smart scheduling by whomever at Tennessee did that. Your team might always be a little off in its first game, and playing a very good G5 team that is at maximum motivation in game 1 is a recipe for an upset.
