AAC Bowl Lineup 2014-19
Some of you are new or just joining from CUSA. I thought it would be helpful to list all of the AAC bowls to see where your school might be playing in the future. So called "P5" opponents bolded.

Additional Info:

Backup bowl deals:
Independence Bowl
Liberty Bowl
Poinsettia Bowl

Other pertinent info:

the American champion finishes as the highest-ranked team among the champions of Conference USA, the Mountain West Conference, the Mid-American Conference and the Sun Belt Conference, but does not qualify for the College Football Playoff, then it would participate in one of the three Host Bowls that will comprise part of the CFP rotation – the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl or the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

Beyond the access to the College Football Playoff, bowl affiliations from the 2014 to 2019 seasons are as follows. The first five bowls listed will be part of a pool from which the Conference will place its teams. Bowl games will be placed based on best fit for the Conference and its membership.

NOTE: I bolded the above, because it sounds like out highest priority bowls to fill are the top 5 listed for each year. That would be the Birmingham, St Pete, Miami BB, Military, Armed Forces/Hawaii. 4 of which have at least a partial "P5" tie, and the other (MBB) apparently has an escape clause to pick a "P5".

Also, you can possibly read into this that if the top 5 bowls are highest priority, then the bottom 3 bowls are lowest priority and specifically the cure bowl as the lowest priority, since listed last.

Also, I counted 20 slots vs so called P5 opponents over 6 years. An average of 3.33 per year, but range from 2-4 (could be 5 if the MBB bowl selects one or AAC gets into Access Bowl).

Nice bowl layout... Thanks BullsFanInTX

That said, I pray that the AAC doesn't play bottom feeder schools from the so called p5... Can't stand them, freeloaders is how I view them all.

Unfortunately, we are playing lower tier ACC/SEC/B12 opponents in these bowls unless we make access bowl. The military bowl gets a mid level ACC team (#7 I think). Armed forces seems to be about the 6 b12 pick. Don't quote me on that. Going off memory. Haven't looked up recently.

If there were ever times to have down years, 2015 and 2019 would be it. That said, I hope we go bowling every year.

Making the access bowl sure would compliment these schedules. In some years 5 bowl games vs the P5 would not be too bad at all.

The American champion WILL finish as the highest-ranked team among the champions of Conference USA, the Mountain West Conference, the Mid-American Conference and the Sun Belt Conference, but does not qualify for the College Football Playoff, then it WILL participate in one of the three Host Bowls that will comprise part of the CFP rotation – the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl or the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

FIFY

Might as well lock one of those bowls in...makes the lineup look a whole lot better.

I'd love to get in that peach bowl this year. It would take a hell of an effort.

So the 'Power 5' bowls break down as follows for the 6 years: 4, 2, 4, 4, 4, 2. That's actually pretty darn good considering all the meltdown that the 'P' conferences would shut us out in bowl play. Too bad we can't fix up 2015 and 2019... but I really expect this will flex a bit in our favor. The P conferneces oversubscribed and won't be able to fill their slots.

The last update I saw for C-USA said they had agreed to a swap between Miami and the Bahamas for the 2014 season. I would guess that means MAC to Miami, but the article did not specify (and is now behind a pay wall). http://www.democratandchronicle.com/arti...303190033/

Losing the Charlotte bowl really pissed me off, ECU would be perfect for that bowl
