Because half of them truly believe Dan is just place holder for Mike. Which is ludicrous imo.

Would you care to provide proof, aside from a few message board posts?

I can, but I won't. It is likely completely fictitious. Landon has zero credibility.

His story is going NATIONAL-so he either needs to be discredited or his story is true.

Apparently the deal was as good as done with Neubauer. LINK

If Landon's story is false the Marshall boosters need to put pressure on the paper to fire him.His story appears very "damming" to me and makes the administration look VERY BAD.If it is true...

This wouldn't be the first time. Landon is so bad I believe he was barred from talking to Doc last year during football season.

I support Marshall.I like Marshall. If this guy is out to make them look bad or is a wvu "tool" then this should be the last straw and something should be done! It's hard enough for schools like Marshall and WKU already. If the story is legit then the admn. should be criticized

This hire is so illogical prima facie; it makes you wonder if the "place holder" idea was considered by the administration.

Landon is a Marshall guy. I honestly just think he's getting old and some screws are really loose.

I fully agree that if his story isn't true, Hamrick should publicly state that fact, and the Herald-Dispatch should fire Landon immediately.

Chuck Landon may be a lot of things but I can guarantee you that he is not a "wvu tool".
There may not be a lot of love between the state's two D1 fan bases, but we wouldn't stoop that low.
He's pond scum and writes for a syphilis encrusted slime sheet.

Would Marshall fans be okay with this hire even if it was guaranteed Mike would never coach for them? Seems like the EKU guy would have been a better hire.

Neubauer had a couple good years, but also quite a few bad years as well. I didn't like the idea of his hire from the beginning. I'm glad we rolled the dice with Dan D'Antoni over Neubauer.

I am surprised no one grabbed LeVelle Moton though. I liked him as well, but Hamrick wants to make a ticket selling hire I suppose.

Happy with the D'antoni hire even if Mike never comes. As Dan said in the press conference, when you get one D'antoni you get them all. Mike will continue to have a place at Marshall as he has running the Vision Campaign with Chad. Dan will have a positive influence on the development of our Basketball Team.
Go Herd!

Like I said earlier in this thread many schools would be happy with an #1 bench NBA assistant coach with over a decade of NBA coaching as well as many more years of coaching and playing.

No coaching experience? Are you out of your mind? While being in the NBA, not only was he the associate head coach on the elite roster but he's been the head coach of the NBA's summer league for the Lakers and Knicks. We are talking about 40 years of experience and coaching. He's been around some of the best coaches and has helped coach and develop some of the best players in the NBA. He's had numerous offers to leave the professional ranks to become a head coach at other places but turned them down. His dream job was here in Huntington. He said Marshall was the only school that could lure him away from the NBA. He loves his Alma Mater and wants to come back and lead this school in the right direction. Cant wait to see how he does. It might take a few years to get the right players to run his system but I think it will be exciting to watch.
