According to Jon Rothstein of CBS and WFAN:

Exact date/time TBA

Third year in a row Tulane will have a game @Barclays (W vs. Hofstra in 2012, L vs Kansas State last season)

That's cool that your players get to play in such a nice arena. My only question is, will it be completely empty? I doubt many Wave fans will make that trip for a basketball game vs a non-name opponent.

The Redmen must have a few fans in Brooklyn, no?

Haha I'm sure they do. Just taking a little jab at the Red Breeze.

Interesting dynamic with Old Big East team that didn't want Tulane vs. AAC Tulane

There is a lot of pressure on St. John's in this matchup.

If Tulane loses, it will be "of course the Johnnies won - Tulane is a football school". No real benefit.

If Tulane wins, it becomes an embarrassment.

Outside of NOLA and perhaps Houston, there are more Tulane alums in NYC than any other place. Last year had a decent amount of fans, all things considered. If Tulane didn't suck, I bet a good amount would actually show up as many of those alums would remember the NCAA runs in the 90's.

But to answer your question, in this case, let's just say that you will be able to scalp a ticket for about the cost of a subway ride.

Very confused by this, why is St. John's playing in Brooklyn? They have an arena in Queens, and an agreement with MSG.

And I really don't think StJ has many fans in Brooklyn. They have some in Manhattan (nostalgia) and a handful in Queens (home team), but generally, they have very minimal support these days. And against Tulane, it will be a morgue (no offense intended).

It's some sort of sponsored event, we have an alum on the Barclay's board (I believe). They probably figured that bringing in St Johns would help offset some of the attendance issues caused by having to have Tulane in the building (it's sad really). I am sure they tried to get another local team, but St John's was the best they could do.

We have a ton of alumni in the area (as if anyone will "bring" a lot of people to a basketball game in December 1,300 miles away anyway). This will be the 3rd straight year we have played at Barclays.

It's a shame the C7 left - there are a few of them that would fill holes in the conference footprint.

Is this just a one off game, or part of some type of showcase? Will it be televised?

It's probably a part of this: http://www.barclayscenter.com/events/det...festival-1 (link is for last year's event)

In December, the Tulane/Kansas State game was on FOX Sports 2. Don't know what the deal is for this season, but I have to believe it will be televised one way or another.
