Well if this is based mostly on performances from last year then yes Uconn is better that both. Cal's only win which was very close was against Portland State which is a fcs school. Virginia only had 2 wins in which they beat BYU in a close one and blew out VMI. Now Uncon is not that far ahead of them. They should be coming up very soon.

Ok, there have been 14 schools listed that they think are worse than UTEP. I was sure that the Miners would have popped up by now. Not that I'm complaining but clearly the college FB world is in chaos.

Has anybody ever taken the time to compare the Orlando Sentinel Countdown to the actual final season rankings ? I know off the top of my head they had ECU last year at 69 and we finished at 37 based on the final poll. They had UCF at 44 and obviously completely missed that one big time with UCF winning a BCS Bowl, AAC Championship and Top 10 finish. They had FSU at #15 who finished #1. Heck they had Marshall at 84 so definitely did no homework on what Doc had with Cato and the rest of the Marshall team last year that finished as high as #29 in the final polls.

I agree with you to an extent. Last season they ranked North Texas #98, and we finished the season 9-4, receiving 2 votes in the final coaches poll. They certainly get some of the picks very wrong, but they do get fairly close on some. They picked New Mexico State, Idaho, Eastern Michigan, FIU, and UTEP to stink last year too.

As of this afternoon, they had Temple in the Sun Belt, so I wouldn't take them too seriously.

I'm thoroughly surprised that Idaho hasn't made an appearance yet. Apparently the Vandals are better than the cavaliers...

I don't know if I would be making exclamations that Idaho "is awful". After all at Idaho half of their team either never played before or only played once or twice at the end of games. If Idaho is awful, where would that leave Temple. Maybe that is why they mentioned the Sun Belt, it’s a better fit.
