I know he had his son's birthday party at a UAB basketball game one year, which is more than what 90% of Birminghamsters can say about their attendance of UAB athletics.
Careful... you'll apparently get negative rep if you say anything positive about him.

Isn't that what a columnist is?
Maybe in the world of Al.com. Not what it's supposed to be though
A columnist is someone who writes for publication in a series, creating an article that usually offers commentary and opinions.

You used wiki for a source? What a columnist thing to do...

Also keep in mind that Scarbinski has to come up with columns on a regular schedule, not just when a topic happens to strike his fancy. Most of us would have difficulty meeting a demand for knowledgeable standard length columns several times a week, every week. Those who could would likely hit a few foul balls out of play just as he does. Most who write for a living miss from time to time - even the great novelists and playwrites.

Poor guy. He has deadlines. Has to produce on a regular basis. How can anyone work under such demands.
Consider that baseball players who get between 30 and 40 hits per 100 at bats get paid millions. I think Scarbo has a better batting average than those All Stars.

And think about all those guys out working 60 hours a week at a hard labor job and getting paid a quarter what Scarbinsky gets. I think he's got it pretty easy.

As we all know, the intensity of physical labor to do a job is usually irrelevant to what that job pays. A job pays according to the societal value of the job - lower value=lower pay while higher value = higher pay. 50% of all working Americans annually make $38,000 or less while 3 million Americans annually make $1 million or more. Which group is more likely to have to break a sweat on their jobs?
BTW, I still suggest that the NCAA allow players from the Power 5 conferences to transfer to other D1 schools and to play immediately. They should only have to sit out a season at other Power 5 schools.
