Glad to see that you are not denying being a race baiter.

Sorry, I refuse to romanticize a time of great inequality in America...and who could forget everyones favorite "police action", good ole Vietnam?

Thanks for ruining what could have been a fun thread. Woe is me and the 1960's.

You oppressive, racist S.O.B!

I'd have driven my brand new '65 Olds Starfire to the polling station to pull the lever for Goldwater.

I'd see the kids

Before sitting down to have another smoke, to pour a scotch, and chat with the wife

But what about the black man who lives on the other side of town because you don't "like his kind" in your neighborhood?

Why does he have to sit at the back of the bus?

Why does his kid have separate water fountains than yours?

Why can't his kid go to the same college as yours?

Question #1: He lives on his own side where he feels more comfortable.

Question #2: He can ride in the front, we took care of that.

Question #3: Is this better?
[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSrzdr_J4kzLp89qblvSIm...jXpLzBGe9Y]

Question #4: We even took care of that too.

Man Fvck you for this one.

I hate to agree with him, but it was worth mentioning. This is something that would've directly had impact on all of our political leanings back then, especially the non-white posters.

A lot of the Southern Republicans we have now would've been Southern Democrats of the 60s. The racial issues would've had a significant impact on their leanings as well.

At the end of the day, the title of the thread should've discouraged me from clicking on it.

And if we went back to the late 1600's we'd all likely be burned at the stake...

Your income would also be about 10% of what it is now.

I wouldn't mind a bit... I'd be a high class peckerwood if my income stayed the same though... 04-rock

38104 is a very diverse area...between Cooper-Young, Overton Square, and the Memphis Zoo there is always something fun to do.

No it wasn't.

It was a silly post that was meant to bring a smile and a laugh. Besides, what I didn't post is that in 1965 I would have worked at an anti-racism NGO arranging Freedom Riders and voter registration drives for blacks in the deep south. So there.

God, people take things so ******* literally. Please recognize that sometimes people use euphemisms and metaphors and exaggerations and sometimes are just posting to encourage something fun and enjoyable that isn't necessarily designed to be analyzed down to the last word.

FFS.

(this is not directed personally at you, nomad.)

nothing about the civil rights struggle makes me smile and laugh...same for Vietnam (I did like the Robin Williams movie, though)

What is racial mix there in Central Gardens?
