Hoax sends SWAT team to raid teenage videogamers house
The knockout game was so last week. Now it's all about calling the police to "confess" to "your own" violent crimes. I'll admit it's slightly humorous to think about... but I do feel bad for the kid. Knowing how these raids have gone lately, he could've easily been shot after flinching from being startled.

I get the inclination to chuckle, but this is actually a really dangerous "game" to play. Imagine if the address pops up as someone with a registered gun, or concealed carry or whatever. Then guns are drawn from the git and if a kid can't hear because of earphones, Mom isn't home and on and on.

This could end very badly. These situations end badly often enough when there's not even a prank call like this. 05-nono

I definitely agree. I only thought it was humorous to imagine it being one of my HS friends. Our town didn't even have a SWAT team so the seriousness is downplayed in my imagined scenario. im sure it scared the living daylights out of that kid.

Yea, I get it, just everyone is so edgy these days. There was a kid or guy shot because he had an airsoft gun in his possession and it was a little dark out, couldn't be seen clearly.

It's the 21st century version of calling in 12 pizza deliveries at the same time to the assshole neighbor next door or upstairs that either won't turn down his crappy music, or complains non-stop when you won't turn down your own. 03-lmfao

A slug from a sheriff's deputy's .357 will kill you just as dead as one from some SWAT commando's AR-15.

Haha that reminds me. My friend worked for a major dick at a taco bell in hs once..he.called in one day saying a church group with two charter buses full of kids would be needing tacos that afternoon. That manager was never so heated in his life when they didn't show..

You're right, you're right. We just lived in a town. where everyone kew everyone else..hard to imagine the police doing more than traffic stops or giving kids a hard time for loitering.

Maybe when a couple of idiots go to jail (or get someone else shot) idiots will find a more benign way to entertain themselves.

Quote:It took 20 minutes for cops to reach Castillo.....

Had this been a real threat a lot of people who are unable/not allowed to defend themselves could have been killed.
