Latest update from Nippert Stadium, should see some concrete walls going in when we next chat in 3 weeks, and steel arrives in June:

Thanks! It's interesting to know that the area where the steps/plaza used to be will be concessions and restrooms.

Here is a question if you can address it - is there an update coming soon as to what will be done on the other side of the stadium?

Those plans are currently being finalized. Will certainly be addressed once official.

It was cool... But I the music kept making me think I was watching the original "Battlestar Galactica" movie/series... You know, the one from the 1970's... I kept looking for Vipers and Cylons...

Anyone heard if this will help with the acoustics in the stadium for music/entrance videos?

I am more interested in hearing the band but I hope it helps with the overall acoustics in the stadium.

For those not purchasing club seating, what added benefits are there for season ticket holders? I will be renewing seats for 2015 regardless of the upgrades but I am interested to learn what our perks will be. I am thinking improved restroom facilities, bigger concourses, and better food and beverage options.

Maybe one day will upgrade to club seating. Next year will give me a taste of the big time because my group upgraded to the club level at PBS.

You may be able to improve your seats because many folks like me will be giving up really good seats (row 29 at 45 yard line) to move into THE CLUB.

439 opportunities for fans herein to step up and join the CLUB. Perhaps they should reduce these remaining seats to only $2,000 the first year then $2,250 then $2,500 like the rest of us.

While it is good to see sales are farily good the number of club seats (1,099) leads me to believe capacity will not make it to 40k, which might be why the school says capacity will be around 40k.

I think thats the capacity for the loge patio, the club section below should have a larger capacity

Sounds great. So are any actual new stadium seats that ham and eggers like me can afford being added?

Many of the new section buyers are giving up seats so you can get those seats.

RE: Nippert Construction Update: 4/23/14
Nippert Stadium renovation on track for 2015 reopening

http://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/c...c/8520771/

UC announced the project in June 2013, as the school tries to compete in the college football arms race. With upheaval in several leagues, the Bearcats landed outside the so-called Power Five leagues in the American Athletic Conference.

UC has raised about half of the estimated $86 million needed to complete the project, Bearcats athletic director Mike Bohn said.

"We have generated approximately $41 million dollars in gifts and suites sold, and we really salute the (UC) foundation staff for their hard work," Bohn said. "The rest of the money will come from additional fundraising initiatives."

The project is using private donations and no public funds. Bohn listed the following updates:

-All 12 founders suites are sold, with most at $1 million each and two at $1.5 million.

-At this writing, one mini-suite remains available. There are a total of four mini-suites at $500,000 each.

-Limited availability remains in the patio suites. There are 20 large suites (eight-person, at $30,000 per year) and 15 small suites (four-person, at $16,000 per year).

-Approximately 60 percent of the 1,099 club seats have been sold ($2,500 per seat, with a three-year commitment).

A new wrinkle will be the potential usage for events other than football. The expansion will allow for happenings that previously could not be staged, for lack of room.

"Weddings, bar mitzvahs, campus meetings, guest speaker opportunities," Bohn said. "Banquets for different colleges and units on campus, corporate partners to be able to come on campus and enjoy the phenomenal environment. It's going to be a building that has opportunities for use and engagement every day."

UC is scheduled to play Alabama A&M on Sept. 5, 2015, the stadium's grand re-opening. Bohn said that UC, with no disrespect to Alabama A&M, plans to move that game and seek a more marquee opponent for the 2015 opener.
