Donnie "Charlie Brown" Tyndall WILL take Memphis first
Gotta love his big round head and crappy haircut.

http://tennessee.scout.com/2/1396257.html

... Although he is nearly 100 miles farther from Memphis in Knoxville (394 miles) than he was at his previous job in Hattiesburg, Miss. (298), Tyndall vowed to build a pipeline to the Bluff City, tweaking the nose of University of Memphis coach Josh Pastner in the process.

“We’ve got to start right here in our home state,” Tyndall said. “We’ve got to get into Memphis.
We’ve got to control our state because we are the best program in the state, and we want everybody that wants to be a Vol or should be a Vol to be a Tennessee Vol...

I wish him luck...Kevin O'Neill, Buzz Peterson, Bruce Pearl, Cuonzo Martin, and now Tyndall have all said the same thing.

Stokes and Bradshaw are exceptions rather than the rule.

Tyndall "vowed?" --- that sounds pretty serious.

He mostly said ...'we've got to...we've got to.... we've got to...' but I don't think he vowed.

Not sure from reading the article whether Tyndall vowed to build a pipeline only or build a pipeline and then tweak Josh's nose afterward. Sounds like he plans to complete the pipeline first but it's not clear.

Will the pipeline go through Murfreesboro?

Wasn't there a Mississippi coach that was going to build a fence around someplace? Maybe Tyndall can use those guys to lay his pipe.

Apparently, he's been assured they're going to build a city in East TN.

The pipeline should be 8 ft in diameter, at the very least. That way no one will need to duck.

And Chris Jones.

IIRC, Adonis was pretty high on UTk but Pearl's pending NCAA stuff made the decision about Memphis easier. Heck, some here thought Austin was headed to the hill.

Heck, weren't some he complaining about all the Memphis kids and the "drama" they bring anyway?

I'm pretty sure from reading the pull quote that building the pipeline involved the action of tweaking Josh's nose, as it was stated that his nose would be tweaked
"In the process". That must be one of the steps of the processes of actually building the pipeline.

He didn't say 'Vols', he said 'vowels'. Listen to the video, I thought he was talking about spelling or grammar or something. If I had to listen to him for the next 4 years I'd quit being a fan.

All the high D1 players from Memphis and you guys come up with a few that went to that other school. None NBA. This Tyndall guy is an idiot for saying this knowing 1) the wide disparity in the two programs tourney wins, history and tradition and 2) like another poster said, all these other coaches from that school have said the same thing and failed.

He knows most UT fans weren't happy with having to settle for their 24th choice so he had to find a way to cheer them up.

Everyone knows we have our fans who get on off coach bashing, but Donnie Tyndall just got hired today. Shouldn't there be a grace period?

Some Vol fans are already raking him over the coals---even making fun of his looks.

That's just too rude. Seems to me they are embarrassment to sentient beings everywhere....lol.

I don't think they will have to listen to him for four years. He will be at Pepperdine before then.
