He is a part if the fire Pastner crowd

Not exactly. I like Josh as a person too much to want to see him fired. I just hope he lands a great job somewhere ELSE.

Fixed it for you. And I agree with your statement as well. He'd be a great fit in Columbia.

"Lost"

I think Mizzou was pretty psyched.

OK...Mizzou offers him say 2.9 million and Josh goes...who do we hire?

Smart and Marshall would turn us down...Mike White turned down UT and Tulsa...after striking out on Drew (again) and Howland we would end up with someone like Steve Prohm, Marvin Menzies, or Derek Kellogg.

I'd rather keep Pastner, see what this team can do, and hopefully add both KJ Lawson and Skal Labissiere.

I would want nothing to do with Shaka. He won with Anthony Grant's players. In all seriousness, do you think Marshall would turn us down? I mean, great pay, NBA arena, fertile recruiting area, basketball school, great fanbase, a new, state of the art practice facility going up. Pretty intriguing if you ask me...

St. Louis Radio Speculates on Pastner to Missouri
I think I agree with what Mike DeCourcy (probably spelled wrong) said.. There aren't many teams out there who would take or want Josh because he hasn't proven he is a very good X's and O's type guy especially for the amount of money it would take and until he does he will not have many seekers..His recruiting is great but for the amount of money he is getting and for someone else to offer more he needs to prove both..He said this right after the UTay position came open when asked if UTay might reach out to him..

You don't know that Smart and Marshall would turn us down b/c you (nor I) don't know how deep into the pockets the boosters are willing to go. They're paying JP over $2.5 and both those guys are better than Pastner. I seriously doubt we'd go way down the list this time. New coach will be replace Pastner, not Calipari and there's no looming investigation. Oh, and did I mention we are in a league with Temple, Cincy, UConn and for the time being Larry Brown and not CUSA?

You sound as delusional as the UT fans....Smart, Marshall, Mike Woodson, Lionel Hollins, lol...those were their "targets"

We matched UK's offer for Cal. Our pockets are plenty deep to get the guy we want.

Circumstances were absolutely different back then, though. Sanctions coming AND nobody wanted to risk failing to follow what Cal had just accomplished here.

FIFY

If people knew about the sanctions, Kentucky never hires Calipari.

On a related note... His only daughter is getting a divorce, fellows.

So --- you really think Missouri is going to offer Josh a boatload of money. "Boatload" meaning 3 M or more? Forget the buyout, whatever that is, at the front of this new contract.

No I don't. But they could.

The question was why would Pastner go to Mizzou.

Yep, I guess he could have just put it that way but he did it with a little more detail..

Well if they can and are willing to shell out *that much* money they're going to get a pretty good coach IMO. We'll wait and see.

exactly. Bowen and crew were able to land a guy like Fuente for a long suffering Memphis football program and people think they wouldn't hire a top notch coach for one of the best coaching jobs in college bball.
