Looking at the state of NC, ECU nearly had to force the Legislature to force NCSU and UNC to play them. Now with App St. and UNC-Charlotte as D1, I imagine those games will go on the UNC and NCSU schedule as a 3 year cycle. Also, this will probably force ECU to now have to play these teams. If they refuse, it provides NCSU and UNC the out not to play ECU anymore. Be curious to see how the Home and Home are impacted. Can see 2 for 1 with App St. and Charlotte. Also, allowing the schools to "TRY" and move towards that with ECU. Neither school was to happy having ECU being considered the 2nd best team in the state, sorry Pirates, Duke surprisingly took the honor as best team last year.

As for me, I wish NCSU would schedule USF for these two years. We need teams to play and this is far better than any 1aa. We are playing at USF this season and that appears to be great away game location and fertile recruiting area. Why not do another Home and Home. Appears to be Win/Win to me.

I would have a hard time paying for season tickets @NCSU. They have most fans locked in due to the life time rights. If you cancel season tickets you lose your life time right(LTR) seats. I have a quite a few buddies who have finally said enough and dropped the LTR this year.
Not trolling NCSU, but time to make it worth the fans investment. USF and ECU being the best OOC game on the schedule is rough.

Plus you play beatable acc teams. Outside of Klepmson, FSU, and LVille every game is winnable. other five games are normally, unc, wf, bc, cuse ect.. State should not need to go 4-0 OOC to make a bowl game.

Next couple years should be better with ND(done through ACC not Athletic Department) and LSU.

I agree with you this season. Been a LTR since the beginning. I have 12 LTRs and planning on eating a bunch of tickets this season. Glad 8 of the 12 are already sold. :)

I would prefer playing a P5 Teams like Ole Miss, WVU, Kentucky, Rutgers, even MD but I doubt any ACC team will play them soon. An AAC or MWC school and ECU, App or UNC-Char on a three year cycle. I don't think NCSU should ever schedule 1aa.

I will say after going 3-8 last season, I don't think any Wolfpack fan with a brain should want a killer schedule. Let's prove we can win at this level after the TOB era and then grow. I have no issue with ODU. Not thrilled with Ga Southern, but they are Sunbelt. I wish Presbyterian was ECU even though I think ECU would be favored this season.

Now the one thing I know ECU fans won't like, NCSU should not offer away games unless it is a 3-1 scenario otherwise offer these games to other MAC, CUSA or SB as paydays. Again, this is not a game UNC or NCSU prefer to play because there is no upside for them, thus why I never understood Fowler and Yow offering to play away. Not a slight against ECU, but why give up any advantage. I would say the same about VT and UVA with ODU. Texas and Texas A&M playing other G5 Texas Schools.

I wish ECU the best in the AAC and I am grateful that we never have to face Shane Cardin at QB ever again. :)

It's really a game for the fans and brings a boost to NC. I can't even begin to count the number of cousins, brothers, sisters, parents/offspring, etc. are a house divided. I know many families where members went to ECU, State and Carolina, or any combination of two.

Now yes, it looks good for ECU to host UNC/State, but I know many Pirate fans would also like to host teams like Ole Miss, WVU, Kentucky, Rutgers and Maryland as well. Not a slight against State either, but who's going to watch outside of NC or the two fanbases? At least if we had a deal with Ole miss we might pick up some casual SEC viewers + the other NC fans who tune into the game out of curiosity.

Personally, I enjoyed the State/ECU game last year. Sitting 2nd row on the 50 waiving a PSOM flag and chanting Purple/Gold was a real treat. My seats aren't nearly that good at ECU. I enjoy the fun rivalries I have with friends and family members who went to state. However, the nastiness and bitterness spewed from ECU and NC state message boards (and drunk fans) ruin the series for me. It's almost as bad as annoying as getting talked down to from unc fans.

Anyway both of our schools could probably benefit from hosting some other P5 teams. Obviously state will get the opportunity and we will probably struggle outside of VT/NC schools. But the game is a fun every third year event.
