Looks like the wheels are falling of at #6 (or Tulsa #6 has found his mojo). Now down 3-5. Has lost 4 straight games.

Now 5 straight. #6 loses first set, 3-6. Sigh.

#4 wins first set tiebreaker!

But the other courst look grim: #1 and #6 are down 0-5. #2 is down 3-5 and #2 is down 2-4. #3 is even, 2-2.

Losses at #2, #5 & #6, which seem imminent, will close out the match, since Tulsa won the doubles point.

#6 loses, 3-6, 0-6.

#5 is serving to prolong the match, down, 3-6, 2-5.

But loses, 3-6, 2-6.

That should do it: Tulsa wins, 4-0. #1 & #4 each one a set.

Quick semi loss =current Rice line-up is non-competitive with #42 ranked Tulsa. Don’t think result would have been different with Bennett in the line-up because roster does not have the depth. Team needs a game-changer or next season will be much the same.

Anyone have any other suggestion besides using the carrot of 100% scholarship to bring in a top 50 ITF player or top 25 USTA player to infuse immediate depth to the line-up? Does anyone think that is a good idea? Don’t mean to be repetitive here but no-one is coming up with any suggestions? Also Tulsa penned a blue chip US recruit in the fall.

Sounds like a decent recruit - probably higher ranked junior than anyone currently on the roster.

Judging by the action photo of Malik, he looks like a throwback player: it's been a long time since I have seen a "continental" one-handed backhand--- very classic, graceful and beautiful! Especially good for grass courts, on which he is playing. Players with this type of grip normally rely on an "all-court game"---probably he has a good serve and volley game. Also, curious that he wears a wristband only in his non-playing hand!?!
Welcome to Rice, Jamie!

Correct with 167 ITF ranking would be highest in current line-up. Agree decent recruit, but hoping Rice's men's also pens a top 50 ITF recruit, or blue chip US recruit, which line-up needs to have any chance to break into top 30-40 ITA rankings next season.
