A neighbor of mine has a son on the team and while at Huskie Bowl yesterday she heard a rumor that the Vegas Game may be moved again. UNLV apparently is not happy with the Friday night game. They also were not happy that there is a Floyd Mayweather fight that same Saturday night. I haven't heard anything but she warned me not to book the trip just yet. Seems like short notice for a game to be moved or canceled? Anyone hear anythinglike this.

It would be almost unheard of to switch times again, I think you can be certain of the FRiday night time.

There's no Floyd fight scheduled that weekend.

I hear rumors that the cheapest way to fly to Vegas is out of Rockford. The plane ticket booking site I have visited tell me there are no Rockford flights to Vegas scheduled for early September. How did you get your tickets? Is there some kind of secret to this?

I do find it odd however that neither NIU or UNLV has changed the date from the 13th to the 12th on their official sites.

Exactly! And with ticket prices this high there's no rush to purchase. I don't have any factual information and I can't believe that a game would be moved this late in the year. I was just warned not to purchase tickets yet. The other odd thing is NIU to my knowledge has not released any travel packages for this game??? Seems like this would be a popular destination.

Can you imagine someone who already had to cancel their plans and rebook flights for the new time, and then have it go back to Saturday. There would definitely be a few irate fans, and understandably so.

This game feels like amateur hour between MWC and UNLV. They announce a game date, MWC states it's their game of the week on a different day, neither team changes it on their website. Wow.

Wonder if NIU pushed back?

I think HFA is flying out of Peoria IIRC.

I dont see why they would...this gives the team a national TV game AND 1 more day to prep for Arkansas.

I booked Southwest Airlines out of Midway Airport for $189.00 each way. That rate is on their website today as well. No luggage charge at SWA either.

Thanks, I notice that Allegiant only flies to Vegas on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I do not know why some have complained about rescheduling the game for Friday Night.

Unless you were planning on seeing Blue Man Group on Friday night.

If the game date is really changed, the schools need to change it on their web sites NOW, and NIU needs to get the message out (via e-mail) to fans NOW so they can make whatever changes are necessary to their reservations. According to the schedule in niuhuskies.com, the game is still on Saturday. So, at this point, all we can assume is that the date has not been changed.

Most of our fans are going to look at the schedule posted by NIU. They will assume the game is on Saturday. Some may want to maximize their work week and leave on Friday. Some may be driving. If the new date is official, this needs to be communicated immediately.
