Welcoming new player transfers INTO Rice
We've had success in football and baseball getting transfers coming in the right direction. And now we seem to have turned a corner in BB and are seeing transfers IN as well.

Unless there's a reason why not, how about a little post-decision reinforcement to make the incoming players feel welcome and supported, and reaffirm they made the right choice (which we know they did - just nice that people besides us are starting to realize that).

I would certainly seem helpful if a prospective transfer was talking to a prior transfer and heard that they were immediately and positively welcomed not just to the team, but also the extended Rice family.

For those with twitter accounts, why not send a quick tweet welcoming the new transfers?

I might be missing some players. Please add to the list for transfers in all sports and if you're so inclined, send them welcome tweets.... unless there's a reason we shouldn't be doing this.

Recent transfers to Rice sports teams

Is Pettite a done deal? I know there are reports that he will come to Rice, but I was not aware it is finalized.

Not sure if anything's signed or not... but he confirmed via twitter last week to someone asking if he knew where he was going - he answered "Rice".

And he's got Coach Graham as his background pic. https://twitter.com/JPettitte21

I sent him a tweet last night congratulating him and he responded by saying he was excited as well.

That is very good news.

His father probably approved of his playing for Coach Graham.
