This just goes to the fact that it is HUMAN NATURE for many to abuse drugs. You want to add intoxicant after intoxicant to the already flooded field, this is what you can look forward to. People addicted to drugs and the consequences of that addiction has a far reaching effect in society far beyond the individual. Ignoring the facts, won't make them magically go away. It makes matters worse.

I don't disagree. On principle.. I just don't care what adults do as long as they only harm themselves. As you point out. Some folks will be drunks, stoners and addicts. Sadly...They just have a genetic predisposition for this. IMO all we can do is treat them. You are not going to stop them...regardless of how hard you try to limit the intoxicants. We have been trying to do that for decades with no success. All it has done is created a violent black market that puts everyone in danger.

I think it is largely a choice. People make stupid decisions it is not genetic, saying it is genetic is sometimes just makes an excuse for them. Talk about stupid, people elected Zero, twice. Especially people under 25 whose brain's decision making capabilities are not fully developed. Liberal decision making capabilities are stunted through indoctrination, drug use and a sheep mentality. Just thought I'd throw that in.

There was a thread a while back about a study that linked the pleasure centers in the brain to addiction. It had to do with the release of large amounts of dopamine in the brains of some people when they tasted alcohol. These people seem to be genetically predisposed to addictions. I agree though...it is not as simple as that.

Addiction to porn might be genetic, well at least there is a lot of genetic material flying around.
