I guess we can't have 'em all:

These are mobile I believe, but there are a bunch of sources if you search.

Glad to hear "Peach Bowl" is back. I always called it it that anyway but it never felt right seeing teams play in the "Chic-fil-a Bowl"

No kidding. "Sponsored by" such as the Rose Bowl-sponsored by Vizio, or something similar is OK. But to put the company logo alone is pathetic. 04-chairshot

This is an interesting bit about the former Gator Bowl, confirming something we've guessed about the top non-CFP bowls:

Quote:The bowl will be on Jan. 2 in 2015-16, and potentially change dates and time slots after that, contingent on television negotiations with ESPN.

In other words, this bowl -- and probably others including the Cap One and Alamo bowls -- will be played on weeknights after Jan. 1 and before the date of the CFP title game.

Taxslayer bowl? That's a horrible name. Even the name Taxslayer gator bowl would be better.
At least the official peach bowl name is back.

The Gator Bowl name should still be included...it is an Historic Bowl...would also like to see the Bluebonnet Bowl name come back as well....04-cheers

I doubt the Cap One moves time slots or days, its ABC's lone bowl game they air, every other game is on ESPN or ESPN 2.

I think Capitol One and Outback will remain New Year Day. If the NFL playoffs don't start that weekend, I could see the following bowls consider to move to Jan 2 and 3rd (Fri and Sat)
Buffalo Wild Wings
Pin Stripe Bowl
Alamo
Belk
Champs (Sat)

I generally agree with your thinking. Cap One has already announced it will stay in its prior slot. Alamo has already scheduled in for 12/30 this coming year, but could slide to a post New Year's date in the future (when These dates don't run into the weekend). http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/college-...hedule.php

The BWW, Russell Athletic (fka Champs) and possibly the Outback seem to me to be the best candidates to join the Gator in the post-New Year's prime time slot previously occupied by the BCS and Cotton. Belk also an outside shot but I don't see the Pinstripe as a Prime time game.

Yep. It seems like much of the prestige of a bowl is due to it having a particular name that doesn't change. If you have a bowl that's been around for 40 years but every year it changes to something like the Charmin Toilet Paper Bowl then that is not impressive.

Prestige these days comes entirely from offering the biggest bowl payouts. Start up a bowl tomorrow, offer $5 million or more per team and you'll have the biggest non-BCS bowl out there.

I find it especially annoying when the bowl pretends it's always been known by the corporate name. There were ads this year for the "25th annual" Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, and I remember seeing a highlight reel of classic Capital One Bowl moments featuring "Capital One Bowl" games from decades ago.

Was never a big fan of the Gator Bowl name. It certainly is better than "Taxslayer" but we have the Florida Gators so for me being more of a Big Ten fan, I never really liked the name "Gator Bowl".

It doesn't surprise me that they are finally moving it to a different day than the other two Big Ten vs SEC games. It seems like a much better marketing move.
