This wouldn't be about this season, it would be about him going against Washington and Bentley next year.

Yes, I was talking about 2015. I have to assume that the reason that he left JMU is because he had been replaced as the starter. Why would he go to another school just to be a backup?

On the surface that would seem to be a reasonable assumption, however Birdsong is far from the only football player to transfer from James Madison since Withers has been hired. Perhaps there is more to Birdsong's transfer than just him not being willing to play a back-up role.

Not sure. But I suppose like most athletes they think they can win the job. He's banking on going to a school, learning the system, then taking a shot at winning the job. Obviously that doesn't always work out, but he played well enough last year to think he can do it.

It's possible he's not really aiming at the FBS schools but just wants his options open.

Or maybe he thinks if he's going to be a backup, he wants to do it at an FBS school after giving it a shot.

I definitely think the style of QB that Birdsong is could play in BW'S system. He would be sort of like TD except much bigger. Whether or not Birdsong himself could play for ODU, I have no idea.

I saw him play in TV last year, he looked a little slow on is feet, like Mark Rypian was for the Redskins. OK if protected, dead meat if not.

He did rush for 500 yards last season (NCAA takes sack yardage away from rushing yards, so his net is 310), but his actual yards rushing was 504, which is pretty much the same gross and net that Heinicke did, notwithstanding the difference in competition.

True, but I was mostly noticing his foot speed moving away from the LOS after the snap. TH has better foot speed from the start, while Birdsong seems to take longer to build up a head of steam. This was only after watching part of one game, but it stood out to me.

I'm sure this is a smoke screen for Withers, clearly, a world class dirt bag. The fact is, with recent events and many players departing the team, his credibility is being challenged. His arrogance toward MB and other players transferring out of, what appears to be sparks or the smoldering of a big dumpster fire? Anyway, it is being insinuate that there was tampering. The poo poo board has implied that Wither's reversal, (blocking new schools) was because he smelled smoke, interference from a school he is now blocking. Wow, what chumps. The sad fact is the incredible claims or implications are a pathetic reach of the purple puke fans to justify Wither's lack of integrity and the way he treats the recruits he kicks into the ditch. 05-mafia 04-chairshot 03-nutkick

Tons of class all over your post. Maybe you shouldn't call people classless and question others' integrity when you don't know what the story is.

Hell you are out here calling out JMU fans for their crazy posts and what they are saying, but the truth is you have no IDEA what is going on at JMU.

So tell us, who does have an idea what's going on at JMU? Based on what I'm reading, I think OT has as much knowledge as anyone - including their AD.

Well then please tell us what is going on at JMU, 'cause no one else knows what's going on either.

It's just a function of your vision, old-timer. He didn't say "classless". He said "toothless".

At least that's what my equally old eyesight read.

OK guys. I have deleted a couple of the posts. Argue all you want, but I will delete posts that include name calling,
especially when I have to put on my glasses to read them, and put my teeth in to curse them.
