Getting fired doesn't mean he will stay fired.

I think you should organize a strike for him....It is your duty!

I mean what's next? Getting fired for having sex with your students? Stop the madness....

I've never seen a teacher rehired after they have been fired. This wasn't a suspension this was a termination.

Quote:Voigt, who is white, told school officials that what he actually told the teen was that he doesn't think the nation can afford another president like Barack Obama, "whether he's black or white."

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with race. It looks like libs are circling the wagons for one of their own.

Proves nothing other than the union won't defend him. He'll probably have to sue and will eventually get back pay and reinstatement.

In a suburb of Buffalo, a school district has been trying to fire a teacher for sexual misconduct with an underage student, for four years. And the teacher has been on full pay leave with annual raises, the entire time.

NYC's famous Rubber Room is for teachers who have committed offenses but can't be fired.

The difference is that the union won't come to this guy's defense, like they do for pedophiles. Speaks volumes about the union leaders total lack of morality.

I can't speak for other states because they all are different. I'm telling you in Ohio the Union has to give representation if the teacher asked for it.

I know Ohio is not a right to work state but you still have to bargain a fair share fee with your local school board. I don't think we are getting the full story here.

NY must be a light year from Ohio then if Socratics stories are true. Just goes to show you you can have levels of Unions. My school just pays off teachers they want fired.

Why do you say that? The teacher is seems to be against Obama's policies, not his color. Were teachers who mocked Bush fired?

This high school put Bush on trial for war crimes and they weren't fired.

TRENTON, N.J. ( – A mock war crimes trial of President George W. Bush at a Parsippany high school continued Friday, despite criticism from people across the nation who heard about the classroom exercise from a prominent Web site and talk-radio programs.

Parsippany-Troy Hills School District interim superintendent James Dwyer said the hearing in the 12th grade politics and government class would continue, but a verdict by a five-teacher "international court of justice" panel would not be rendered as originally planned.

You can make a very good case for Bush and Cheney to be war criminals. It was a good political exercise.

Hell if Dicky boy himself is worried about it and you guys don't think it should be talked about in a CIVICS COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the REASON YOU NEED THEM.

Wilkerson told ABC News, "From what I've read, Cheney seems to criticize everyone, including President Bush, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, [Deputy Secretary of State] Rich Armitage, and a host of others except himself." He added, "Waterboarding is a war crime, unwarranted surveillance... all of which are crimes. I don't care whether the president authorized him to do it or not, they are crimes."

RE: Mach, your union brother needs your help!!!
My school has supported every teacher that our school board has decided to let go. We have had a 10 percent turn around. They can say it's a Reduction in Force. Then hire another teacher for the same position the next year but they have a slightly different certificate. Where are union has had a little success in getting the teacher a little money until he transitions to another job. Last guy received 30 grand and his insurance for a year, but they wanted "RID" of that guy. He knew some skeletons and where they were buried. He signed a note of non disclosure they agreed to average evaluations in his next job app. Another thing to consider here is the part of that state. Cinci area is very very RED. They might not even have a fair share fee. The guy probably keeps his job if he's in a Cleveland suburb. You guys have this inflated inflated power of the unions. THAT I CAN ASSURE YOU.

Another thing I know is that every local is given so much legal support. It's like budgeted from national. So your local union has more control over these issues than anything. Piss off your local President and see how much support you get.
