Board Meet-Up
All,

I am organizing a board meet-up between BCJ and Bearcat Banter that will take place at Bad Tom Brewing on Eastern Ave. Since everyone schedules are different I will throw out a few dates on each board and whatever the majority picks will be the date of the event. The dates will be Friday May 2, Friday May 9, or Saturday May 10. We can possibly do a Thursday if wanted.

Tim and Chad (from BCJ) will both be in attendance (Chad if he is in town). This will be your chance to ask them questions about UC football and Basketball. I am working to see if I can get attendees from the Athletic or Ticket Departments. This will also be your chance to meet your fellow board mates and put a face/ real name with the user name!

Some background on the beers available at the tap room:
-Bad Tom Ale- A medium bodied ale with rich reddish brown color, a small tan head and a fruity aroma.

-Brother Clement Belgian Ale- Brewed with whole clementines, it has a light citrus aroma and clean refreshing finish

-Kloppenburg Helles- Fermented with ale yeast at high temperature and employs triple cascade hops to achieve its unique dry bitterness

-Old Abe American Ale- Creamy but full bodied beer with a dark amber color and a medium lace.

-Addlehead IPA- Golden yellow color and a full, rich body with creamy head and a medium lace.

-Black Kettle stout- smooth texture with a rich, creamy, feel on the palate and a distinctive cinnamon aroma

If you would like to attend please PM me. If you have any questions or comments feel free to ask! I will update this thread when i receive more info.

I will be in Fort Wayne supporting one of said hoops prospects on the 2nd. The 10th would probably work best for me, but I could do either day on that weekend.

That place is never open, better call ahead to make sure they are. I went by on a Friday around five a few weeks ago and nobody in the joint. Great way to build a client base by not being open for Friday happy hour.

RE: Board Meet-Up
Tennis season...so 2nd and 9th are out. AD would probably frown if I drove the school van over after a match filled with our high school team. Somehow I don't think my boys would mind though.

The 10th is our league tournament, but should be over by 3:00. So if the Board Meet-up is in the evening I should be good.

I am not a unique beer afficionado, nor do I know anything about the different things that most of you seem to be interested in. I really like plain old lagers like Bud, Miller, Stella, etc. Are any of the available beers there like this?

I doubt you will specifically find a Bud or Miller in a brewpub, but there is usually going to be a house-brewed light lager/pilsner, or blonde ale. I think you would be happy with either.

Were you you in the mystery plane that flew over Kansas?

I only ask, because you are in some sort of aerospace thing, and one of the secret photos I was sent showed a vapor trail that seemed to spell out U C.

The Helles, stout, and IPA all sound good to me. Me and the Mrs. will try to make it for sure. Never heard of that brewery. The new one on Wooster Pike (Rt. 50 Brewery or something?) has an excellent IPA called Coast-to-Coast. I think they are beginning to bottle, so you don't have to go to the brewery to partake.

This reminded me of chatter's typical response to these threads. I was amused.
