Maybe Missouri can use some of that new SEC money to hire someone decent.

OK everybody. Tell me about this move...
He jumped on the first train out of town because his chances of lasting longer than one more season at Mizzou were slim.
That was the word on talk radio here today. Said that their sources in the other Columbia indicated they wouldn't be all that upset to see him go between the mediocrity and the taint he brought from Miami.

Haith taking the escape hatch....
Ohio's former coach Jim Christian did the same thing hopping from TCU to Ohio before the bottom fell out in the B12. Two years later he jumped to the AAC.

Do you think Missouri will fall apart as badly as TCU? The Frogs are 2-36 vs other Big <12 teams the last two seasons.

UAB's football coach did the same thing although he took an assistant position.
Give the guy credit for being aware enough to hit the eject lever while he could.

Certain fans that can't be mentioned need to learn that.
When you are about to be fired, you take whatever job you can.

Did anyone think that perhaps Danny Manning left a lot of talent in Tulsa and with Tulsa moving to the AAC they will be in a conference that will be getting an abundance of bids next year given UConn's title and SMU's NIU title game appearance.

different situation in that TCU transferred to a tougher conference (MWC to Big12) right after Christian left, and unlike Mizzou, TCU's bball program is eternally bad.

I LOL'ed when I heard the news on Tulsa TV this evening.
Unless you are about to be fired, why step down in competition? Maybe he has family that lives in the Tulsa area.

I believe the terms are "sour grapes" and "saving face". Interesting that another SEC (in Knoxville, TN) also had a basketball coach defect. Haith probably learned from whatever mistakes he made at Miami and Mizzou, to Tulsa's future benefit. I predict that he will do as well at TU as to be expected in the very tough AAC. The Hurricanes made a good hire, in my opinion.

Knows he is on the way out so he stays one step ahead of the unemployment line after being fired. Why else would he move from a flagship SEC school to a small school like Tulsa in Oklahoma behind the likes of Oklahoma and Oklahoma ST that is about to enter the AAC. Someone with a career spiraling upward instead downward would be moving the opposite way.
