Tennessee has the resources to double his contract amount, if they want him they will out pay Cincinnati, money talks. So the question is will Cronin move for "mo money"?

Tennessee has a history of hiring basketball coaches on the cheap. If they where going to pay that much for Cronin they would just get Greg Marshall.

Actually, it was just a poll asking fans to vote, not really a list compiled by the university. It had perhaps 20 names on it, most of whom likely would not take the job.
Right......and it was one out of town newspaper quoting another paper regarding possible candidates.
That's a pretty loosy goosy list from several angles.

Tennessee fans have a delusion that the SEC is some powerhouse in basketball. They believe Cronin want to leave the dumpster fire they call the AAC for being in the SEC.

This is why Cronin won't leave UC:
http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/coach-princ...d=22731050
his daughter, Sammi.
Mick has the full support of the administration, his team and the fans. Unlike many coaches, money isn't a driving factor. UC is blessed to have a coach like Mick and I hope he stays until he retires.

That's probably true...but if you are his attorney/agent, you utilize any major job opening as a way to squeeze more $$$ out of your current contract at your current school.
Its Agent 101.

Cronin has very little in terms of leverage either. He'd have to leave his daughter behind, which isn't going to happen. He just bought the new house and had it decorated... something that he said he waited to do until he was set at UC. He is now set at UC.
Cronin is going nowhere. He is born and raised UC, a UC grad, and in for the long haul.

Sorry Wilkie, but you are way off base here. Cronin turned down Minnesota 5-year $17 million offer last year. If he turned down that to coach in the Big 10, what would it take for him to go to the SEC? You really think UT is going to pay enough to make him come? No. They won't shell out 5 mil a year for a coach.
This is such a non-story. Mick won't leave UC because of many reasons, some of which aren't disclosed. There are more than a few people who know him and know why he will not leave. The only thing that would force him to would be the administration not having his back, which isn't even close to the case right now.

+1 on all of that.
As a separate matter, I predict that an SEC school will make a huge offer to an AAC head coach (football or MBB) in the next 12 months.

Some fans on the UT board are clueless enough, they think Cincy plays in the BE and Cronin wants to get out for the same reasons Buzz Williams left.

Seems like Mick got what he wanted. Facilities improvement. Although cutting the number of seats has an obvious downside, the quality of each seat will be better, UC will be more of a "hot ticket", and true fans will generally pay up for better seats. A makeover of the Shoe was well overdue.

NEW DETAILS on UC's proposed renovation of 5/3 Arena, coming soon. Would cut to 10,000 seats, no bleachers (via @cliffpeale) #Bearcats
