http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketba...head-coach

Not my favorite coach in the world, but boy that is an impressive hire after some thought the search was looking bleak.

EDIT: SORRY! I should have clicked through the other thead. Feel free to delete!

Tulsa shouldn't hire this guy. He hasn't done anything as a head coach at Miami or Mizzou.

Actually Missouri was a 2 seed in last year's NCAA tournament, but they were upset in the 1st round. I wouldn't hire him though, but it has nothing to do with his coaching.

Add to the fact that he's an A-Hole. He was an assistant coach at Wake Forest one year when I attended Dave Odom Basketball Camp.. he was our counselor. He was a gigantic ******* the entire week.

I like it. It looks good for the conference to have the 2012 Associated Press national coach of the year. Along with the Sampson-to-Houston hire, it continues to raise the coaching bar across the board. This will be a dynamic basketball conference top-to-bottom.

He is also one of the best coaches that I have ever seen at getting out of town 15 minutes ahead of the posse. The guy has a sixth sense or something.

I'm more than willing to believe that is true, but you don't really think that should influence Tulsa's decision right now, do you?

Doesn't that make him more valuable, not less?

Haha... of course not. But I get a little sour every time I see his name. I love seeing the guy get canned, and he doesn't deserve to coach in the AAC.

Its hard to not be excited about an SEC coach from a major SEC program coming to Tulsa.

I know he has dirt but the guy won 30 games in 2011.

This is a baller move by Tulsa.

I like rolling the dice here.

My thoughts, exactly.

But is it a done deal?

If based just on coaching, then he is an upgrade over Manning.

Plane on the tarmac ready to go get him. Flight plan filed. His team was texted for a meeting. Looks like it's a "done deal"

Not if you are the one left holding the bag.

I am with you on that, but then again maybe there is no such thing as an innocent victim in big time college sports.

You make him sound like Bobby Petrino, or some dirtbag like that.
