2013. Vance McDonald was projected to be a 2nd-3rd round pick. Ended up being picked at #55.

Who, oddly enough, would be the teammate.

I think Gaines's talent speaks for itself, and it would be fantastic if he could go to a team like the 49ers.

I would also be a bit more excited if this was Todd McShay's projection, as opposed to Mel Kiper's. It's like Kiper drinks his own kool-aid. Kiper was the one after all that said something about Jimmy Clausen being an NFL ready quarterback a few years back.

Ahh my mistake. I thought Vance was drafted later. I forgot that he was a second round draft pick.

Don't know if this was noted, but Cheta Ozougwu was waived by the Bears a couple days ago (http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2014-...-podlesh). Maybe he should try San Fran

I'm sure it has happened a few times since, but Buddy Dial played with Malcolm Walker on the Cowboys in the mid-60s.

Ooh, I've got another one: Doug Cunningham had a cup of coffee with TK and the Vikings in '79.

I think Emanuel and Izzo had some time together in 2001.

And if drafted counts vs. active roster, Cheta and Thor were together a couple years ago.

Every draft expert has major mistakes.

McShay believed that “ten years from now, we’re going to say Limas Sweed was the most productive and most talented wide receiver in the 2008 NFL Draft class.”

You may or may not remember 2008 as the year DeSean Jackson and Jordy Nelson were drafted. You also may remember Sweed from his UT days, but probably not for his 69 career receiving yards. His signature play?

How about this. A Rice punter and kicker were in camp with the Chargers together.
