Also he's still coming into his fairly new 6'9" frame. This guy was only like 6'3" until his junior year of high school. Then he shot up to around 6'9". He still seems a bit clumsy getting used to his height so hopefully that changes this season.

Whatever dude. Just because some guy was a 4 star player in high school or sat on the end of your bench doesn't mean jack when he gets to college if he performs as poorly as that guy did. There are plenty of 4 star bust that never do anything and that's what he's looking like right now.

It would be one thing if he was actually productive in the minutes he played but what the hell is a summer session going to do if he can't even be productive in garbage time vs other scrubs and walk ons at the end of games. 8.8 PER is horrid, especially when he was mostly vs other scrubs.

I'm also glad Pastner will take this young Tiger squad on a foreign tour to gel and mature as a team...that's 10 extra practices and a handful of games.

Next year is somewhat of a rebuilding year for the Tigers with having to rebuild the entire backcourt.

I think we make the NCAAs, but it will be a close thing.

A grad transfer veteran PG would be a nice add. Really want the BYU guy.

We lose our leading scorer in Dalton Pepper (exhausted eligibility) and leading rebounder in Anthony Lee (transferred to Ohio State).

We add 3 transfers in Texas SF/PF Jaylen Bond, Clemson SG Devin Coleman, and UMass SG Jesse Morgan.

There are still questions as to whether Morgan will have any eligibility at all, as we're still appealing. If he is eligible, he averaged just under 13.5 points per game his last year at UMass. He is also a good 3 point shooter, which we need to replace Pepper

Coleman didn't play a ton at Clemson, but he put up efficient numbers. He averaged just under 5.5 points per game, and just over a rebound per game in 11 minutes per game. He also shot 9/21 from 3.

Bond didn't put up great numbers at Texas, but he had a few injury issues that he has since recovered from. By all accounts, he was the best player on the team in practice, so hopefully that shows in games. He has double double potential.

In addition, we add freshman PF Obi Enechionyia, who is rated a 4* on ESPN, 247, and Scout, and a 3*, #117 recruit on Rivals. Obi had offers from schools like Georgetown, Indiana, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Miami, Providence, VCU, Xavier, Maryland, Villanova, and Virginia. He has grown a few inches, and is now reportedly around 6'10 225.

The big key for us is that we added players who are known for being good defenders.

Daniel Dingle should be recovered from his meniscus tear, so he is another player that we didn't have (most of) last year.

We will finally have depth and should be able to go 9 or 10 deep.

Haase is doing the same thing with his UAB squad because they will be just as young as Memphis.

On a ten day contract. You people hyped him up as the #1 player in his class because of some old ranking, best player in CUSA, future lottery pick etc even after he was completely average his first year. I never said he was a bust. I said he was completely average in college and overrated by Memphis fans which was entirely true.

He has all the athletic ability in the world of course it's not shocking someone gave him 40k dollars and a look for 10 days. The thing is it never translated in college to anything tangible on the court. He had a sorry 15 PER in college which is the adjusted average and just as average production as any other average CUSA player. He was even shittier in the NBA with a 7.3 PER in his little look. If anything he confirmed why he wasn't drafted and that he's not good enough.

For a young teams like the Tigers and Blazers, chemistry is just as important as talent.

WTF was he actually better at? Flexing? Kemp was one of the most productive players in the nation and in CUSA history. You can have all the athletic ability and muscles in the world that make scouts wet, but if it doesn't actually translate into doing anything on the court it doesn't matter. You really couldn't get any more average than he was and he was one of the least efficient scorers in CUSA last year.

I must've missed Maurice Kemp in the NBA this season. Surely the NBA scouts, GMs, and coaches wouldn't have included Adonis this season and not a player of Maurice Kemp's skill level. Especially considering Kemp plays a position that is at a premium. mmm. I wonder why I missed it.

The NBA is a different game and there are plenty of great college players that don't make it. There are also plenty of screw ups in the scouting. Complete bust or players like Jeremy Lin on the other side that can play at a high level that almost didn't get a chance. I hardly think Thomas getting friggen 37 minutes in the NBA and a cup of coffee means he's better. Especially as pathetically as he performed. He was pretty $hit in the D League to with a 13.5 PER.

Quote:Surely the NBA scouts, GMs, and coaches wouldn't have included Adonis this season and not a player of Maurice Kemp's skill level.

Thomas is built like a tank and is one of those guys that physically looks the part and gets the scouts excited. Then they put him on the court and he sucks and none of that translates to anything. Still a guy like that is going to be given looks by coaches and GM's fishing around for something hoping to find something. Kemp weighed 175lbs at the combine. He's a guy that clearly got it done on the court in college but isn't going to get the same chances. He also had a season ending knee injury when 10 days were being given out. He's probably a fringe NBA talent but he's not going to get the same chances at his size.
