RE: Will The Thrill Barton
back in 2007 when the FEF hosted the Nike Hoops Summit - the USA team consisted of HS seniors Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo, Michael Beasley, Jerryd Bayless, Kyle Singler, etc. That was our first in person introduction to DRose. Cal was front and center in the first row. The best player on the World Select team that game was Nicolas Batum. I remember him being a wiry guy who was really smooth and led their team in scoring that game. I knew he'd have a long NBA career after watching him.

Portland is really good. I think it's a good situation for Will to practice every day against these guys as it will only make him better.

His sole- and not really that clever- point...

Was to use the phrase- Grizzlies first. And by indicating in sports (not the NBA) he takes yet another oh so insecure shot at the University of Memphis.

He is beginning to earn my pity though- this is becoming beyond sad.

That's the same way I read it.

played a tiny bit. Portland is basically going with a 6-7 man rotation in the playoffs.

Will played 7 minutes, and was 3/3 from the three point line against the Spurs tonight. Unfortunately he was only playing because the Spurs had the game out of reach. At least his team is still playing, while Rose, CDR, and Tyreke are sitting at home...

I watch the TBlazers a lot. Boy oh boy, I could tell from the early part of the first quarter they had a severe case of skeertitis.

I think Will's contract is up after this season. I hope he sticks with Portland, or gets a chance for more minutes elsewhere.

3 for 3 from 3 point range, even in garbage minutes, is pretty good.

"Lighten' up Francis..."
I did not mean that as a 'slap' to our former players and their teams.
I'm happy to be watching a former Tiger in the playoffs. Of the four Tigers in the NBA, Will is the only one still playing. Fact.

RE: Will The Thrill Barton
Funny story...

Quote:Reserve guard Will Barton, Robinson's neighbor in the locker room, claims he kept calm while hopping up on his chair. There was all kinds of commotion until "our brave trainers," as Robinson referred to them, corralled the beast.

The Blazers thought that it was a rattlesnake, but a Spurs official said the snake was determined to be non-poisonous before being safely released back into the wild.

Players said the snake's length was 3-to-4 feet, but the Blazers trainer estimated it at 18 inches. The snake was believed to be a baby.

"Big enough," Barton said.

Portland later tweeted a photo of the snake:

Pretty funny unless it's in your locker. It kind of looked like a kingsnake...They do bite. I needed a close up pic of its head or tail.

This game kind of sucks. I can't believe the Spurs are so much better than Blazers. They must not match up that well.
