I was watching an old episode of Your New House back from just 2006 I believe & they were talking about new technology that could be used to record tv shows.

They said to not throw away the VHS tapes yet though.

Of course, they were talking about DVR's.

The price for one of these recording devices started at $900.

Either that is a show for old folks or they were talking about HD capable DVRs. The first TiVo was released in 1999 and was something like $200-300. The first ones that could record high definition came out in 2006 and were in the $800 range.

It may have been closer to around 2001 or so.

Old people tend to forget about dates.
