He will get 1,000 yards on the the second to last game but not worth the money. The VY year he had a great o line. He can't catch the ball at all.
TN has had some of the worst QB play imaginable. Jake Locker is atrocious even when healthy. Teams have stacked the box against CJ for years and he takes the blame for it.
Locker was playing great last year before he got hurt. They did stack the box, but not so much the last couple of years. CJ is a hard worker and very durable, but he is a "me" person. No way were the Titans going to pay a 1,000 yard back $8M. They didn't even want to renegotiate, that should tell you something.
I'm not sure there has ever been a time Locker's career where he was considered a top 20 QB, including last year. I bet you would struggle to find 5 he was better than.
Fitzpatrick sucks, Collins & Hasselback were ok but had a combined age of 107, and Vince Young was the best when healthy for a brief stretch. What CJ has done considering the lack of weapons on the Titans has been remarkable.
What concerns me is the Jets aren't much better. Vick will be the best QB he has ever played with, but can he stay healthy more than 5 games? I don't know.
Look at Locker's numbers last year. His problem is staying healthy.
Ever since CJ got his big contract, he has been a disappointment. He's not worth the money. He only averaged 63 ypg last year and about the same the year before. People talk about our O line, but they were pretty good and will be very good this year. The Jets will have a worse QB and O line. CJ's best years are way behind him.
I always pulled for the guy, but all he did was talk about himself and how bad the O line was. Very telling that it took him this long to sign a contract and that the Jets were the only team involved. He will have moments, but Jet fans are delusional if they think he makes them a legit playoff team.
Ok well why talk about CJs #s and talk about a decent stretch Locker had? He still wasn't a top 15-20 QB at any point last year.
Who gives a #### what CJ says. Everyone acknowledges he is a good blocker, clearly a good runner, better than most as a WR, and the guy plays hurt. Maybe he says "ME" things but everything he does on the field is for the team! Oh yeah, he rarely fumbles either!
The Titans used him wrong for way to long. He needs a system with read option and a team that is willing to throw him into the slot and line him up as a wideout.
Even if CJ was overpaid the last couple of years, he we was underpaid his first couple. I however don't think he was, I just think Jack Locker was a horrible choice as a franchise QB. That kid couldn't even win in college.
