Great news! (on a personal level)
Some of you may or may not know this but there has been an uprising of gang violence in Louisville as of late. Well Friday, the gang struck again and attacked my uncle on his way into work. He was beaten brain dead with a lead pipe by one of the members and had a massive heart attack on the way to the hospital. He somehow made it through the night but passed Saturday. To make matters worse, the police tried to cover it up by asking us not to go to the news so as to not scare people away from Thunder Over Louisville (big fireworks show downtown). Of course, we went against those wishes anyway.

So I'm sure you're wondering why this is "great news". Well, they caught the murderer today! Granted others were involved but the man who actually beat with the pipe has been arrested. We still hope they catch the rest but it's great to have at least the killer in custody. Let's hope the police and justice system do the right thing this time and fry this dackface!

I am sorry for your loss. You just gave an example why many many Louisvillian are starting to conceal carry. The Police will never be there to protect you, so protect your self by conceal carry. Its funny that the FBI says Louisville has a gang problem while the mayor and chief of police says there is no gang problem, which is another example of lying liberal Democrats! 07-coffee3

Thank you! So grateful they caught this punk. He was trying to rob a vending machine...I hope those nickels and quarters were worth what he's about to get!

Louisville the city is all about that profit, Wilkie. I'll never attend a Derby event again because of it. I can tell you that much!

Because conservative Republicans never lie about anything right Wilkie? Can we keep this type of ignorant bull**** out of sports threads in the future?

No offense, but why would you ever share this terrible story on a message board? Its awful what happen to your uncle, but it doesn't exactly paint a nice or accurate picture of the city to potential ACC tourists. 99.9% of any gang violence that exists in Louisville takes place in the west end. I highly doubt any of our new conference mates have an interest in visiting this part of town.

Except this didn't happen in the West End and neither did the attacks at the Waterfront and at Slugger Field. Maybe visitors should be aware of dangers instead of them being covered up.

Also, just because you say "no offense" it doesn't give you a pass to then be offensive. Plenty of people have shared their personal struggles on here before. It's also not my job or MO to paint our city in any other light than it paints itself.

Yes , unless You visit the State Capitol where a state Senate member did just that and Her gun went off.

Krux, Sorry about Your loss. Saw the TV news story on Him. Seemed like a great Guy. The issue I have with These under age punks is Their Arrest records are wiped clean when They turn 18 and They later get hired and enter Your work place with a clean slate and yet continue Their punk ways and upper Management feels Their hands are tied , but You can't say anything bad about Their Bad behavior or lack of work ethic because They can use Racism against You or the Company. What's happening to real fairness for the real working class today. We are being Hijacked by Laws aimed to protect criminals. Not just a Louisville problem but a National problem.

Actually KY is a open carry state. I open carry when I go fishing. CCW is better in the city, it does not freak people out. I pray to God that I will never have to use my pistol, but it is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. 07-coffee3

Sorry for your loss.

This really does not change my opinion of Louisville or the possibility of me visiting for a game or other reason.

Sorry for your loss...sadly our urban youth think it is fun to hurt others. This punk isn't a youngster (33) but surely he has been on the wrong side of the law since being a teenager.

Wow, Krux, I'm really sorry to hear about that. This is just a completely senseless act of violence. I just don't have words to express how awful this is.

Even better. Sounds like the thuglets haven't run into somebody packing the 2nd amendment yet.

We had a rash of armed robberies around here until the thuglets chose a Waffle House were somebody was packing heat. Robber #1 took one between the eyes and was dead instantly, robber #2 was shot, fled, and caught.

http://www.goupstate.com/article/2012012.../120129934

For all the hysteria over gun laws, you'll NEVER hear stories like the above on the national news networks.

I am carrying a Sig P938 (9mm), Kahr MK9 (9mm), Sig P238 (.380ACP), or a Springfield XDs .45 ACP. It depends on the clothing I am wearing to which one I carry. They will all get the job done with Federal Hydra Shok Ammunition, Buffalo Bore Ammunition, or Hornady Critical Defense Ammunition or Critical Duty Ammunition. I never buy the cheap or unproven Ammunition. This Ammunition will ruin a bad guys day! 07-coffee3
