Anyone have any football uni changes/updates/makeovers for this season?

Rumor has it ECU has something up its sleeve with rollout for the new conference.

New ECU Helmet:

Rick Hart said late last year that SMU will have new red and white jerseys that match last year's blue Pony Express jerseys in style. We will also have white pants and one alternate pant color and will have alternate helmet choices.

It's not final yet. There was an outcry for a gold chrome facemask.

I have to agree. As a long suffering Pirate, I have to say that some of these changes are nauseating. Chrome purple, seriously? And now rumors of a chrome grill? How do they integrate that into our current gold (yellow) look? And a skull and crossbones that just got out of braces? The '13 uni's were great IMHO and created a hell of a lot of interest. What I would love to see at the very least is an updated Peach Bowl variant as a throw back alternate. Maybe to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the psychological advantage. I understand that the athletic department is looking to enhance recruiting by catching the kid's eyes but at some point you become Maryland or Oregon and you've gone too far.

I don't think we are anywhere near settled on that chrome helmet.

I'm more interested in what they do to the jerseys/pants. Maybe we FINALLY get to see a pro-combat

Yeah I was a huge fan of the black uniforms we debuted last year. Hope to see something new and interesting with the white and purple ones. Who knows maybe even something with gold since we are supposed to be having some kind of gold out for one of our games this year.

If they did it I'm going to assume it would be whatever shade the accent around the logo's head is. That's not really "gold" but it's not highlighter yellow either. I'd love to see a gold uniform. I know the only time we did it they were mocked, but I think that was much more about the horrible style of those uniforms and the fact that it was the JT era and no one remembers that fondly than the actual color itself.

Ding ding ding. I'm a conservative jersey guy, but flashy unis and multiple combos are what today's players like. Look good, play good. Give the team/recruits what they want.

I'm well aware those were Russell's, and I might be one of only 3 people who actually liked those uniforms anyway. I hated that style the entire season, but those were my favorite by far from that year.

I'm aware NB and I know we have to attract the kids, my two teenagers love a lot of the new style uniforms too. What I'm talking about would be maybe a single game use of an updated Peach Bowl variant maybe to be worn the next time we play the psychologically disadvantaged. Very expensive and it could be argued that the money spent on them could be used elsewhere, and that would be the correct argument. I would still love to see them.
