I think that it's a pretty silly assumption to suggest that all hispanics are for amnesty.

So what you're saying is that the border counties with majority Mexican heritage will become strongly Republican, right? 'Cause it looks like the opposite is happening... The most consistently "blue" counties in Texas are right along the Mexican border and filled with Hispanics.

That's because they are immigration policy voters. When that issue is put to rest they have a lot in common with Republicans.

It's been bluer

Quote:But something unexpected is happening. The more Latino Texas gets the more Republican it is trending. Latinos are making themselves right at home in a welcoming GOP. Red, not blue, is winning.

In the second map you will see that El Paso County is the biggest in population of the Democratic holds. South Texas which I know well because I used to live there for two and half years are small towns in comparison to El Paso county. Del Rio for instance hasn't really grown much since 1967-1970 the years I was stationed there at Laughlin AFB. So El Paso is the largest population-wise.

Believe me when I say El Paso is democratic all the way. It's hard for a Republican to win here and the Demos that do win have a job for life as they keep getting elected regardless of their record.

But, the further north you go in Texas, the more right leaning Hispanics become.
