New series starts tonight (in Justified's time slot). Looks like this might be a keeper.

I'm kinda pumped for it myself. I might get to watch this one tonight and can actually hold discussion tomorrow about it.

IGN already reviewed the pilot and was very complementary. Hopefully it's as good as they say

A lot went down in the first episode. Hard to think how they can keep it up for 9 more.

Billy Bob already has nailed an Emmy. That character is Dexter without a code.

I got to the part where BB and the guy were in the diner discussing Hess.. I got sleepy and went to bed.

Yeah I was a bit surprised that it didn't end until 11:30. However, the last half hour was packed with murders.

Is it the same plot as the movie?

Just watched. Now that was a certifiable hoot.

No but thee are lots of similarities but with differences. A couple most notable:

Billy Bob Thornton's character is not an amalgamation of the Steve Buschemi/Peter Storman parts. As I previously noted, he has the intelligence of Dexter but without any moral baring. (I actually see him as a lot like Lawrence Bloch's "Keller" hitman.) He's deadly with a black sense of humor.

They don't overuse the Minny accent. A few "ya betchas" but not too many "Ya's"

It's interesting. I liked it. I'll be watching it.
