Why don't you show a picture of the Heat's 3 Larry O'Brien NBA Championship Trophies? or better yet, show one of Charlotte's anything.

We're talking about the fans. Your fans are there because of Lebron James. Period. Not the Heat. When Lebron James leaves, it'll be awfully easy to get tickets to Heat games. I'm sure you're proud of the fact that 3 NBA superstars decided to team up and get a couple titles the easy way. It's like being a fan of the Yankees... anyone can buy a championship. Cheapens it. But I'm glad it makes you happy... you need some happiness in your life, being an FIU fan. lol

No, Charlotte hasn't won a title... but our fans show up either way. That's the difference between real fans and Heat "fans."

We're not talking fans; you're talking fans (I know better). Yeah, we're enjoying the fact that the greatest basketball player on the planet currently plays on our home town team.....sue us. And also sue us because Pat Riley chose to come to Miami, coach and stay on as GM to put together this current championship ensemble. The Yankees, what a joke; there's a salary cap in the NBA, if not LA and New York would win every year.

You color me proud, I color you envious. Give me a call when Charlotte wins something, anything. 03-weeping

I can buy the LeBron/Heat argument on fans, BUT the Heat also had the Zo' years when they were battling it out with the Knicks in the playoffs and you also had the Dwade/Shaq years that got a title too. A championship can add a lot of fans to your team.

Right, there was a lot of fight in those old Heat teams, long before a championship came to town. Remember when P.J. Brown cartwheeled Charlie Ward off the court? or when little Van Gundy came on the court and was biting at Zo's ankles. Those were some tense years between the Knicks and the Heat.

Some of these people think we're just showing up to the party, it's been nearly 20 years since the Heat signed Riley away from New York.

I was actually a Heat fan until LeBron went there. It wasn't because he went there, it's how he did it: "I'm taking my talents to South Beach." Ripping Cleveland's heart out like that, classy.

I get so sick of the boo hooing about Cleveland. Players change teams all the time. Free agency exists. Why does Cleveland think they are immune to it. I am not a Lebron fan, but respect his talent. He made a career decision just like other athletes have done.

I blame "the decision" hype on ESPN as much as Lebron. There was just as much hype about where Manning was going, but there is no backlash over that.

Manning signed his papers and moved on with like a class act, Lebron didn't and that's where the backlash comes from.

Funny how the Heat tanked the last couple of games to avoid whatever side of the bracket Brooklyn is on. Low and behold who got the 6-seed?

I agree. ESPN sold a bunch of commercial time for this signing and made a bunch of money. When ESPN was covering the story, they understood how much attention this would bring and made an hour long program out of it. When fan sentiment turned on how it was handled, ESPN turned on Labron with every talking head they had. Talk about hypocrites (they tried to protect the handling of the situation for about 5 minutes and then ran).

If not for ESPN's platform (and greed) the signing would have been handled like any other; a covered press conference.

By the way, didn't LBJ raise like a million dollars for the Boys Club's as well?

Prefacing this by saying that I am largely over the Lebron hate.

That said, you clearly do not "get it" if you think that people were upset because Lebron left Cleveland. People were upset because of what a drama queen he was toward the end of the playoffs, his role in getting Brown fired before he left for Miami, "The Decision," the "I'm taking my talents..." line, the infamous "not one, not two, not three, not four..." party, and the commercials in which he pretended to embrace the hate despite clearly being hurt by it. He came off like a needy, petulant little child with a colossal sense of self-importance/entitlement.

I have no doubt that Lebron would handle things completely differently now. He has matured A LOT since then and he has come a long way in repairing his image. It will still be a long time before a lot of people stop seeing the whiny, attention-seeking 25-year-old Lebron, though.

"The Decision" is likely the biggest PR disaster ever by an athlete. While a lot of people blame ESPN (and they deserve a share of it), Lebron's camp had to agree to do it. I'm still convinced that Lebron was largely a victim of some very, very bad advice from someone close to him. Despite all of the reports before the show, I did not believe he was leaving Cleveland until the words came out of his mouth because I thought there was NO WAY he would have had that show to announce he was leaving his hometown team. I'll be damned if he did, though.

You're trying to justify his "announcement" when it was really only about his promotion.

LOL. I'm not trying to justify it; just saying he's not the villian some are tyring to portray him as. And by the way, this whole country is about self-promotion, from Arnold Palmer to Michael Jordon and way beyond.

Was the vehicle he and ESPN chose to use appropriate? that's up for interpretation. But you hating Lebron, the Heat, Miami, fast-food or whatever is your own problem.

I dislike the Heat more than I disliked the Lakers (and that's a lot), but they've had pretty good attendance for a while now. They do have a ton of bandwagoners that represent their national fan base, but in Miami, they are the team.

RE: OT: NBA Playoffs
My first round picks are chalk except for the Nets over the Raptors. However, I would only be shocked by Charlotte over Miami and Dallas over San Antonio. Outside of those two series, there should be a lot of good basketball in the first round. Charlotte would be far more competitive against Indiana than Miami, I think.

Heat won't sweep the Bobcats. 5 games most likely...Charlotte has been hot of late. I think they believe.

Nice to see the playoffs back in Toronto, been a long time since Vinsanity.
