It’s almost like Russia isn’t deterred by Obama’s sternly worded statements.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A U.S. military official says a Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region.

The official says the fighter flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level, saying this prompted ship commanders to issue several radio warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and the passes ended without incident.

The USS Donald Cook was operating in international waters east of Romania. It was deployed to the Black Sea April 10th, in the wake of the Russian military takeover of Ukraine’s Crimea region and ongoing unrest there. The official was not authorized to talk publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

I think it's kind of funny, not the risk of triggering war but the act itself. If you're a pilot you've got to love that.

At least with Russia they actually have armed forces so we won't do some false flag crap.

Believe me, they had radar lock on the jet at 175 miles out before the first pass. This is the same old stunts Russia did during the Cold War. Had the pilot turned on his active radar he'd be dead inside of 10 seconds. It's their version of chicken, they want someone to panic and fire. Putin will push a little more, we send the entire 6th Fleet and he'll back off. Same old song and dance.

Oh no, Obama called Putin again today and told him he was really, really getting upset at him. Said he would draw red lines all over the place if he didn't start to behave better. Putin no doubt put Barry on hold to hide the laughter....

Yep, with the Ruskies at least we know who the damn enemy actually is. None of this "blending in with the crowd" BS we have to deal with in the MidEast. Kind of refreshing, in a morbid way.
