A 73-year-old anti-Semite with a history that includes forming a local KKK chapter opened fire on innocent victims in the Kansas City area. The deranged man killed a grandfather doctor and his 14-year-old grandson who were there at the Jewish Community Center for a singing competition (and one other lady at a different site). They were Methodists, not that it matters really, but he was targeting Jews and shouting Heil Hitler as they were arresting him.

This isn't a post about gun control. This is just a rant against hateful crimes of any type. And sadly, the crimes always seem to occur in the USA around this time of year for several reasons which have been well documented in the past.

Horrible. Overland Park is not a likely place for this crap. Idaho, Oregon would be more likely. Very sad and disheartening. Jews and Christians will suck it up, and grieve in silence, as they always do. You won't hear them refer to the Jew hating KKK, grand dragon of the Southern white Democrats.

It's a shame regardless of who is killed or who was doing the killing.

The principal cistern for anti-semitism in Ameica is liberals who hate Israel and Zionism, and by association, Jews. Other than that, anti-semitism disappeared in America decades ago. I can't recall one straw man claim that international Judaism was responsible for the financial crisis, although before WWII that was the reflexive response.

WWII did its damage to the Jewish population, they have never recovered from the purge, or the stigma. Jews are still largely scorned by many. Crown Heights is a prime example. Some even think that Jews are responsible for all that is evil in the world. The Jewish American Population is overwhelming democratic, and was the largest voting block for Obama in 2008 and 2012. Almost 80%.

There is a lot of anti-semitism in the world still. Jews are probably the most universally despised of all groups. They always have been, and most likely always will be.

The premise by many of these groups is that the Jews promote multiculturalism as a way to overcome and control the United States. That Israel militantly protects its own culture with strict immigration policies while promotion mass immigration in all other countries. This is what many of these separatist movements believe. It's not so much about hatred of a race than it is being angry at the Jews for trying to destroy the cultures of Western countries.

I don't know enough about it to make that judgement. I am only reporting what I have read and heard about these groups.

I think a lot of it is that many people who aren't 'fans' of Jews also don't know any. You really can walk around all day in a lot of places and not meet one. Unfamiliarity breeds weird beliefs about people.

There is truth in that statement. I don't equate it to any particular race. In fact my biggest beef is with white liberals.

I do however feel that multiculturalism is pure racism and those promoting it have one goal. Make whites the minority. There isn't any other logical stance these people could take.

That to me is pure evil and the very essence of racism. Yet they are not only given a pass, but celebrated in our culture. It's at the core of why I loath the progressive movement. Until that changes and these people are shunned, our society will be wrapped in a never ending cocoon of racism.

Americans are obsessed with race in a way that won't allow us to make common sense decisions. Our obsession with race and multiculturalism is a big problem and yet we celebrate these divisions and act as if we, as Americans, are somehow enlightened by our seeing racial division everywhere.

It's so far off the mark that we actively teach people that it's a good thing to hate those we think hate. It's stupid and the antithesis of the idea they are supposed to be preaching.

I agree, and I don't mean to undercut the tragic story of what happened in KC. This was an act of evil.

People are different and the left will never be successful at bringing about equality. All they are successful at is generating more hatred.

Hell, things have never been equal for me and I am a majority. It's ok to have races and its ok to have different cultures....and it's ok to celebrate your own culture and identity. That doesn't mean we see ourselves as superior.
