That is not even remotely factual. If they're really good they go to the Sugar, Fiesta, Peach, etc...

Very constructive stuff. Don't know why I'm surprised your whining has bled over to the conference board. Heaven forbid you keep your aO$U-esque pompousness to just the fellow bearcats. FANTASTIC representation of the fanbase.

As for the spring game, we learned that Tubsy and the gang are gearing up for more of a festival type experience as the years progress. Regular practice in year one, slightly larger full blown spring game year two, states that year 3 will be an "event". I like the gradual approach. As for the game, can't ever tell much with these. If the defense is gonna look good the offense has to look bad and vice versa. Love that theyre sticking to the spread like the second half of last year, and love Abernathy in the slot. Deepest wideout group I've ever seen. Very excited to see Kiel on actual gamedays. Secondary will be okay, especially at safety. Defensive tackle is a HUGE question mark, very likely a big weakness.

Decent crowd too, for what little advertising was done. I expect more for next year with the whole "event" thing.

We have no guaranteed access to a big boy bowl, the bowls we do have are a joke as is our tv contract...why does pointing this out make me pompous?

Forgive me if Im not as excited as you are to sit at the kiddie table with a sippy cup and plastic spoon.

Oh, I didnt realize your wallowing, whining, and demeaning was helping us get into a better TV contract. Carry on the good fight sir!

(BTW pompous comes in when you {and not just in this thread} act as though we are Alabama and we were just forced to join the Sun Belt {no offense}. Its cool to want more for the school, but to bemoan and insult the other schools in the AAC in the same manner that we are treated by the other P5 conference schools fans is pointless and unwarranted.)

UPDATE 2!!!

last set of spring games today

Temple: its appeared as though temple is missing academically ineligible WR robbie anderson more than expected pj struggled to connect with receivers in the spring. the good news is that temples borderline horrible secondary seems to made drastic improvements garnering a few interceptions in the game and holding the game to rather low scoring affair (unlike last year)

Rutgers: Nova has taken the lead in the QB competition but flood wont name a starter till fall. flood noted nova only threw 1 pick in all spring practice and has built a relationship with the new OC

Rutgers???

The earth could open up and swallow that whole campus and I wouldn't bother to read the story in the next day's paper.

Seriously, I was about to say "screw em'" but I realized I don't even care that much.

We will miss him, but our receivers were good, especially Darren Sproles clone Khalif Herbin, who had 5 receptions for 93 yards and a TD, and 2 rushes for 16 yards.

am i missing anything? want to add anything?

will bump thread after temple and tulsa are done spring with their storylines

Stanback didn't have a particularly great spring. He ran himself in O'Leary's doghouse a little bit. But he is by and far the best RB, and unless he has 'tude problems in the fall, he will definitely carry the load. He had a bum ankle for the latter part of spring, and perhaps that's why he played sparingly in the spring game. But when was in there, he looked like a man among boys. Between Stanback and a superb WR corps, whoever the QB ends up being won't be heavily relied upon to win games (but he'll obviously have to at some point). His job will be to get the ball into the hands of his playmakers. I expect we'll see a heavy dose of Stanback, and short/screen passes to get the ball in the hands of Worton, Perriman, Hall, Reese, and Williams and let them do what they do best. Offense will probably be a little more basic than last season. My biggest concern is how the new look OL will perform. They gave up a lot of sacks yesterday, however the "2 hand touch" rule on the QB was in effect, so that was probably exaggerated. Defense should be very solid. Hopefully they can be a better pass rush D than they were last season.

Do not forget about Breon Allen.

Breon was Offered by Pitt out of HS..This could be his year...
