Lions travel in prides and have an equal hierarchy, but agree that the gorilla uses tools so much smarter but does that translate into instinctual hunting skills? I'm sure one of those science shows did something on this.

The Lion fights for its' food every day. While the Gorilla forages for fruits and veggies. The Lion has experience over the Gorilla. The Lions paw is powerful enough to break a horses neck. The Lion wins and it isn't even close.

If the Gorilla has the better brain, it will stay away from the Lion. There's a reason why the Lion is king of the jungle.

Can't we have one of those underground animal fights like they had at the beginning of Any Which Way But Loose (or was it Any Which Way You Can) to find out? You know the one where the snake beats the ferret? I'm pretty sure I know who Clyde would be rooting for.

But the lion is hunting 4 legged animals with no real defense mechanism. Gazzelles & zebras don't present the challenges that a silverback would. The silver back can't run & won't run. A lion rarely faces an opponent from the front. They're always chasing. Smart money's on the silverback. Btw, what would the line be on that fight?

I'm hearing the Silverback will be a slight favorite from some very reliable unnamed sources. Take it to the bank. Our primate pal will be a slight favorite in Vegas.

Lion takes this fight. Gorillas are peaceful vegetarians. Lions are skillful hunters.

Gorillas and our closest relative, the bonobo are peaceful primates. Chimps and humans? Not so much. I'm surprised by the lack of support lions are getting in this fight. I'll take the undercat here.

How about this one: Tiger vs Lion? Prime alpha males obviously. 1 v 1.

Big Blue is our mascot, and he is freakin' awesome. He is a National Champion among mascots. Monarchs is our nickname.
