Curious, we could use his talent but...

No thanks. We have responsible, good citizens on our football team. Bringing in this young man would send the wrong message to the rest of the team. His previous behavior is too serious to even deserve consideration from our coaches.

I would guess that he transfers to a 1-AA school and then declares for the 2015 NFL draft. I don't see any way that he sits out in the fall as required for transferring to another 1-A school.

CJF and Staff have cleaned up the program in terms of attitude, commitment, and citizenship. Establishing a winning culture is next on the "To Do" list. Adding a few bad apples could set the team back, yet again. Players are smart enough to figure this out.

I am the opposite. I think what a second chance has done for Gerron and Dixon... While I believe he has a very solid pro career ahead of him, I think two years at a program like Memphis could change his life.

And, I will admit, seeing him catching passes from Paxton as a Jr just sends chills down the spine.

Sure...bring him in! We are in the business of helping kids. Learned that from a former coach at Memphis....

RE: Should Memphis go after DGB?
IF he wants to sit out a year and then finish out at Memphis, of all places...sure, I'd take him. What do we have to lose?

I agree with what one of the above posters pointed out. He probably drops down a level, plays out next season and declares for the NFL Draft (a la Da'Rick Rodgers, Jelani Jenkins, etc.)

Oh, btw...what makes some of you think CJF has a team full of committed guys now? Wasn't it the last game of the year and we were still deciding who to take on the road with us, due to lack of "buy-in"? I sure hope what you all are saying is true, but I'm curious as to why you believe it...wishful thinking?

Doubt he'd want to sit a year. He'll go the DaRick Rogers route and transfer to a 1AA school then go pro in 2015.

Agreed, but that may not be the smartest decision. Rodgers did it, had a great combine performance (top-5 graded WR), and still went undrafted. He was signed, cut, signed again...struggling to make it.

If I were DGB's camp, I would go the JUCO route. Find a place that gets him out of the spotlight and far away from any "temptations". A place where the only thing to do is play football and go to class. Then I'd look to transfer to another high-major D1 school and prove to everyone that he's a changed man. That may be a pipe dream, he may not have that kind of self control or will to change...but that's what I'd do. JMO.

Like Joe Craig who hit not one but TWO women?

I trust the staff to do what they think is best- because the Craig thing has so far worked out. But we can't act like we have a team full of choir boys.

DGB will go FCS, and enter the 2015 draft...he is twice the player Da'Rick was.

He can't go the JUCO route either. He's played two years at Mizzou. So no eligibility at the JUCO level.

It would be extremely surprising if is not playing 1-AA this fall and then declaring for the 2015 NFL draft. He might be at Missouri State since he's from Springfield where the school is located. Would be a nice publicity for them, I suppose ... they are also said to be considering moving to 1-A and mutual interest with the Sun Belt.
